Hi Pat, I'm also in Denver. What part of town are you in? I'm in S.E. Denver and I'm followed at RMCC at Rose. Karen0May 2016

I noticed the same thing in my friends and I am at a point that if I have to think about a friendship for more than 10 seconds they aren't true friends. They are do goodders who find self worth helping others through hard times, As for the here we go again thing. My now x husband was working most of the time of my treatments in another state and would come in town on the weekends to do my laundry. We had the finances for him to see me more often and I planned my chemo around him so that I felt good when he was home. Given all of that he really let me have it on the golf course one day. I have lymphedema in one arm and it's hard to play now. That went all over me and I left him for his lack of help and friendship. And way more. You are on the right path and you don't have to worry about others. They take care of themselves. Good luck and happy reading0July 2015

So glad all went good for you.
Life is good, good out and enjoy it !
I am still in chemo with surgery in March.0January 2015 -
Good luck tomorrow...my lumpectomy was managed with Tylenol XS...minimal pain, more discomfort form the sentinel node biopsy. Have some pillows to keep your arm on when you are resting in bed. Get plenty of rest, let others wait on you for a few days, and have a piece, or two, of chocolate! Praying for sure and steady hands for your surgeon and a fast and easy recovery for you.0June 2014

Hi Katndenvr! I too live in Denver (Lakewood) and had Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 1. I was "lucky" to be HER2 neg. and they got all the cancer the first time and none was in my lymph nodes so I did not need chemo or radiation, However I did have a double masectomy! Look me up for my phone number I would LOVE to help you through this. EBurris Because they always block your phone number on this site. I am 60 years old and a retired teacher, grannie and in total remission. Did reconstruction, but that's another story. 11/2 years in remission! Yeah, finally back to most of my other activities and enjoying life again!!!!!0June 2014

Katndnvr, welcome to the club that you hoped never to join. I am also in Denver. If you ever have questions feel free to reach out.
Do you know where you are going to have treatment?
I am also HER2+. Believe me getting Herceptin infusions is no big deal.0June 2014 -

Hello, yes, this is a great site to find support, answers to questions, with kind, informative people. I was also diagnosed with IDC in Aug and have finished surgery, chemo, and radiation. My plan of action was to get educated about my situation and go in knowing all the questions to ask my medical team. I came to understand that the more proactive I was, the more the providers saw I was serious about helping them help me.
Hope this finds you in high spirits.0June 2014 -
Good luck as you start your healing journey. I have DCIS and just had a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy. Will hear my pathology report next Thursday and will know for sure if they got all of the cancer!0June 2014

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
