I don't really feel like "celebrating" but it is the one year anniversary since my mastectomy.
Today is a cruddy day for me. I woke up early with ridiculous phantom pains on my left side in the breast area. I was having a dream about my surgeon and kept hearing her voice and the voice of her nurse. It wasn't until I popped into work and my co-worker said "I've been thinking about you today. This is the one year anniversary of your surgery." Yep, she was right. It makes a lot more sense now.
I am thankful and celebrating that I have made it a year since my diagnosis AND a year since my surgery with no ill effects to speak of.

I can understand not really feeling like celebrating but it is indeed great news that you are one year out. Take care, legaljen.0

Congratulations on your anniversary. I know it is hard to celebrate, because it is such a life-changing event and not in a good way. However, you have earned the right to celebrate. Getting where you are today is not an easy journey. Here's to many more celebrations. Take care.0

I agree Jen. It's like a 2 edged sword. You want to celebrate, but you keep remembering the journey. I'm 5 years out with MBC, but I never celebrate. I'm just thankful for each day.0
