Breast cancer stage 1a. Lumpectomy preformed, 6 nodes removed. Waiting for results about radiation/chemo.

    So sorry to learn you've found yourself starting down this road. I also had lumpectomy for stage 1A but, fortunately, no lymph node involvement in my case. If you're like most of us you are probably experiencing a lot of emotions right now. WhatNext has been a great source of support for me and I'm sure you will find the folks here helpful. Ask about any questions concerns that come up.

    A little over a year ago, I was awaiting the results of my Oncotype test. It was Christmas time and the results took a month, because the first sample sent was too small. I was extremely upset that I Had been diagnosed with stage 1 cancer and also that I might need chemo. I wish I could reach out to you and give you a huge hug. No matter the result, you will be able to handle anything and everything.

    Like beachbum said, waiting is the worst. Hang in there. Have you heard anything yet? Please let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.
