Hi the psa is up after a couple of years at close to 0. We have had chemo immunotherapy and are on xtandi and elongard. Not sure what the dr will recommend any thoughts on what we might do next. We are trying to do anything but chemo. Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear this. The PSA is up from what to what? And, did the same lab - using the same protocol - do both tests?

It is up from 2 to 9 in 6 mos. no it is a different lab as the dr office used to do it but their machine broke. Not the most confidence inspiring thing but it is what it is

Hard to compare the two. I would hope that another test will be done in a reasonable amount of time - the same lab using the same protocol for reasons of accuracy. Although the increase seems rather startling, PC patients can Some patients have a relatively low PSA while others with very high PSA do not develop the cancer.

Probably time for some cores to be taken - but that is doctor's call. No point in over-stressing until and unless the biopsy results reveal a malignancy. Even then, panic is not helpful. "If" it is a recurrence or a breakout, time to research the latest in drugs and drug combinations, as well as clinical trials.

I have not had PC, but three other cancers. I am alive almost solely because of clinical trial participation - four and counting. If need be, find the available clinical trials here: www.clinicaltrials.gov/
