This has probably been asked before but I couldn't find it here. Does CBD oil work for pain?

I mean really work, not just "I think it might", or "I'm not sure if it's working". If it won't cut pain like taking a pain pill I'm not interested. Does anyone have real life experience taking it? How much do you have to take? I know nothing about it other than some facebook claims I read about how good it works, and we all know that those HAVE to be true, right?

I have tried CBD oil as directed by the instructions that came with it. Honestly, I don't think it did diddley squat! I know other people who swear by it.

Thanks Bengal, that's what I'm hearing from the few who will admit to using it. Some act like it's the greatest thing ever, others say that it might as well be water. If that's the case it's probably a whole lot in the head of the person taking it. Seems to me that if it actually works for some, it would work for others unless they just have a resistance to it for some reason. I'm still curious to see how many find that it helps.

I am with Bengal. I didn't think it did a darn thing. I too know people who swear by it, but it did nothing for me.

I used some on my knee and it just tumbled a bit. Really didn't help for pain.

Surely we have somebody here that can tip the scale with a firm "YeS, It DiD HelP"!! As many places as there are that sell this stuff either it works or they're pulling a lot of wool over a lot of eyes.

I think there are alot of desperate people out there grasping at straws. I have been one of them; just trying to come up with something that will ease aching joints, muscles and bones. I've tried several different brands of CBD oil both online and one touted by a very reputable pharmacy. For me it was a waste of money (and this stuff is not cheap!). Some people insists it works for them. All I can say is, lucky them.

I never have tried CBD oil. I've just not heard enough people say good things about it.

There's an oil called Trauma oil that MIGHT help. My husband falls a lot. The other day, he thought he broke his toe in a fall. I'm not sure if it was a break or a bad bruise, though I think it was bruised. I mixed up some essential oils in trauma oil (which is a combination of arnica-, calendula-, and st. john's wort- infused oil (usually olive oil)) to use on his toe. He was very skeptical until I rubbed it on the toe. We rubbed the oil on his toe several times that day and a couple of times the following day. The bruise faded pretty quickly and the pain never came back after the first application (it had been severe enough to keep him from sleeping prior to using the oil). I've also tried the trauma oil (plus some essential oils) for earaches ... and that works on skeptics too... (This is all anecdotal, of course ... and I've only tried it a few times ... so take it for what it's worth!)

I don't know what kind of pain you are experiencing, but you might give trauma oil a try. It is applied to the skin, not taken orally. It doesn't take much.

You can make your own if you can find St John's Wort ... it has to be fresh ... for the calendula and arnica, you can use dry flowers. I keep calendula and arnica-infused oils going, but I don't have a source for fresh St John's wort.

Nope, zilch. And it wasn't even fun!
    Waste of money.

CBD is not medical MMJ, it doesn't contain THC which is needed for much of what people with cancer need. Help with pain, insomnia, appetite, etc. I tried the CBD for insomnia and it did nothing for me. If you can get medical MMJ, the indica strain helps with the above and sativa can help with energy and appetite. If you have medical MMJ in your state, apply for it. If approved and most cancer patients and other chronic illnesses are, then you can talk with someone at the dispensary about your needs. Good luck!

CBD oil does work but you really have to do your research. I went to a class to learn about it since I've been seeing it EVERYWHERE. My daughter uses it with my 10 year old grandson at his doctor's suggestion but not for pain. He uses it to calm him. I have thought about buying some for my husband but he's on so many medications that we would have to talk to his doctor. I would love to see him get a medical marijuana card.

@ LiveWithCancer-the arnica gel is amazing stuff, isn't it. I've used it and bruises disappear overnight. This and the calendula are things my daughter,, who is very into holistic medicine, keeps in her house. I keep the arnica gel in my house since hubby is on blood thinners and bruises easily.

Just as this question posted I received a request from a company that sells CBD oils. Of course they swear that it works. I have asked what legitimate proof do you have that it works. And if you want to run an article here send me some to use myself to make my own opinion. If it works I will say so, if it doesn't then I will say so and we won't be entertaining any more articles from companies claiming big help. We shall see if they respond.

And.....as of today, still no response from this company. But in the meantime, we did get another email from another company asking the same thing. And, I sent them the same response. I will probably get the same NO response from them.

I am not against CBD, I was actually hoping that it was something that would work, I have a significant amount of pain from my current DX, I would love to have something that worked besides pain pills. But like a lot of things we run into and/or are told about cancer. If these things worked the doctors would be suggesting them or prescribing them. Of course, the conspiracy theorists won't have any part of that, they are still on the "there's a cure but they won't let us have it" theme.

My oncologist recommended that I try CBD oil but not the kind you buy on Amazon or in regular stores. He recommended going to a marijuana dispensary and getting CBD/THC salve.
