There is always a list of F.A.Q.'s on most websites. I am putting one together for the basic questions we often hear/see. What question would you put on that list, and what's the answer?

Should I seek a second opinion? Won't it hurt my doctor's feelings?

If you do not feel comfortable with the protocols prescribed by your oncologist, by all means, get a second opinion. Even if you are comfortable with your doctor's plan, getting a second opinion can be a good idea. Any doctor that you are willing to trust your life to should not mind you getting a second opinion. In fact, he or she should welcome it.

How long will it take to start treatments after I get my diagnosis?

What side effects should I expect? Or, are you experiencing certain side effects and how do you deal with them?

Unfortunately, this is different for every treatment and every person reacts differently. One of those questions that doesn't have a one size fits all answer. Like just about everything to do with cancer.

What are my expected copays? I was stunned that even with insurance, my copay if I had to have a Neulasta shot too was about $1,500.
