What have your short term and long term side effects of radiation been?

I am feeling some of both. And some of the side effects I'm feeling I don't know if they will be long term or not. I appreciate your input.

Short term: serious burn that took a while to heal, extreme fatigue. Long term: I still suffer from Chronic Fatigue. I don't know how much is attributable to the radiation, to chemo, both, or, as my doctor keeps reminding me, that I'm three years older now than when all this started. To me that is a cop out, trying to blame constant fatigue and aching joints on something other than my cancer treatments.0

I had extreme fatigue as well that lasted for years - I'd have to take a nap most days but then my doctor started me on B12 shots and that has really helped.

My hubby was spared the burns by the nurse telling him to apply Lansinoh cream to the radiation area on his back everyday. It's for breastfeeding moms but worked great for him. His biggest side effect was the fatigue which continues to lesser degree. He's still taking iron and B12 five years post treatment.0

I really don't know what caused what caused what. I had radiation in 2011 for endometrial cancer and then again in 2013 for breast cancer and in 2016 chemotherapy. All I know is that I can push myself and really get things done one day and not be able to do anything for two days. I've been cancer free since 2017 and get so impatient with myself. My primary, also internal medicine, says all the chemicals in my body are messed up from the stuff put in to save my life.0
