If you lost your taste, how long did it take to lose it?

Then, after treatments are over how long will it take to come back? I have mostly lost it now and that makes eating just a going through the motions thing. I don't even want to eat anything either. My appetite has left with the taste.

If I remember correctly my sense of taste went all haywire as soon as I started chemo. I'm now a year and a half after treatment and it's pretty much back to normal. But some things still taste a little weird.

Depends on what cocktail they are giving you and for how long. When I was on chemo there were times when food tasted like cardboard. Although I like ketchup on almost everything, could not stand the taste of ketchup during chemo. Same thing with avocados. Some foods had a metallic taste to them. I learned after my chemo was over using plastic silverware helps with this. My tastebuds normalized post chemo in a matter of a few weeks.
