Hi there wife2elliot. I personally have not had this experience but could I recommend journing one or two other groups on Facebook that are made up solely of ovarian cancer survivors. Sisterhood of Ovarian Cancer Survivors is one of these groups. Only women survivors and caregivers are on this site and it has several hundred participants so you will have a stronger response to your question. The other group is The Teal Ladies. Just ask to join and ask your question. There are no screen names here. Great support and advice from either group.

Gee Whizz. Where have you been lady? I see you moved nine months ago and read the medical update. What kind of treatment are you on currently?

How are you doing lady? Saw your question concerning Cancer Centers of America. I do not qualify for them, they do not take Medicare insurance even with a suppliment. I have noticed though that checking the top adult cancer hospitals in America , they are not mentioned, perhaps because they are labeled a center. For me, if I wanted to travel for treatment and a second opinion, I would look at that list of top hospitals and go there. My hospital ranks 34th on the list but that is not too bad considering the list is for the entire U.S. One of the hospitals on the list in the top five is in San Francisco, if I become dissatisfied with my care, that is my next stop. Check the list out, see what you think. Just google it. One thing CCA do is treat the whole person, diet, emotional needs included. I have found, for me, diet can be managed by research, and I am lucky that I have great emotional support from friends and family.

Hi, How are you? Have you ever heard of or had a lymph massage?
Maybe you just have a small clog in the old drain?

Hello. What do they plan on doing with your risen ca-125 and enlarged lymph nodes? I don't think I have enlarged nodes as the only enlarged areas I have are under scars like scar tissue. I palpate my abdomen/pelvis to watch for any changes daily. Thanks for the input. Ca-125 jumped so high I was like what?? Well we will see. Hope you are ok too.

Greetings! Congrats on your scan results. That is awesome! I see you've elected to follow me. Thanks! Just be aware, I can be a bit sarcastic. Always a cheerleader, but my sense of humor is what got me through treatment. Again, so glad things worked out w/your scan & hope your surgery goes well, too.

Hi and welcome. Read your experiences but no details given. I am 68 and was diagnosed in 2013 with stage IIIC ovarian cancer. I had chemo, surgery, and more chemo. Have been in remission now for a little over a year. Treatments were rough, still have some fatigue but hair has regrown and am adjusting to my "new normal". My family found this site for me when I was first diagnosed and it has been full of information and support. As a survivor I hope you will also help answer others questions and of course ask any you may have. All of us have had our lives interrupted by cancer and we are all here for each other. Take care, talk anytime.

Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. Hello wife2elliot and welcome. I'm glad to have you here but no one should have to deal with cancer - I'm sure you'd agree. My cancer is similar to yours, I was stage IV and I have been in remission (or No Evidence of Disease) for over a year now.

The journey had some really rough spots but that's behind me now. The group here has been a comfort to me as I can share openly with others who truly understand my circumstances and fears.

I hope you will also find this site to be helpful -- the awesome people here at WhatNext.com are always around if you have questions, want info on how we handled things or if you just need to vent. Venting can be cathartic!

Just saw your info & wanted to say "Howdy!"

I'm older than you, but also had Fallopian Tube cancer. The doctor didn't think I had anything to worry about when I went in for a "routine" hysterectomy, until she discovered my tumor. My CA125 was not very elevated, so no reason to suspect cancer- she just thought it was my fibroids. SURPRISE!

So my laparoscopic surgery was interrupted until she could get the gynecological oncologist there. I was in the hospital almost a week & the surgery was by far the most difficult for me to recover from! Chemo was nothing, comparatively speaking.

I'm 3 months since my last chemo & all is good so far. How are you doing?
