Kust diagnosed with ovarian cancer has spread and am very weak. Gyno oncology surgeon suggested HIPEC after trying chemo. I'm scared of course. Can anyone share their journey from beginning?0February 2019

They say of HIPEC, "heat it to beat it." Check out the PMP Pals, too. When I was diagnosed,
I couldn't find anyone who knew about cancer of the appendix, and they have tons of information and are very supportive and helpful. I would also be more than glad to answer any questions I can about my experience with HIPEC.0December 2012 -

Hi Maralyn. You said in your post to CindySLilSis that cancer won. This is just my opinion; cancer didn't win, your sister finished her race and God called her home. I would ever give cancer or any or illnesses that much power. I'm glad to hear that your fighting. May The Lord God bless you & your family real good.0July 2013

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER!
If you are suffering from a disease, or a chronic medical condition, you may wonder if you can ever be healed. The Bible has good news for you!
While doctors and medicine are a gift of God – and He certainly uses them to bring healing – His power is infinitely greater than any human wisdom or prescription. In fact, He “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20b).
Throughout the Bible, God encourages us to call upon Him for healing. He says in Exodus 15:26b, “I am the LORD who heals you,” and we call Him “Jehovah Rapha” because He is the God of healing. Psalm 103:2-3 says, “Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”AMEN

Dear Lord it's Friday again. How many Fridays have I faced with this cancer inside me? I've lost count. But I haven't lost my faith. Because this is the day that every thing turns around for me.
My cancer will be healed this Friday. My pain will go away this Friday. I won't feel sick this Friday.I wont be unloved this Friday. My hair will begin to grow this Friday.I won't want to vomit constantly this Friday.I will thank my doctors and the pharmaceutical companies for all their help this Friday. My family will cry with happiness, this Friday. And I will thank you my GOD for curing me of this disease. This Friday.
I will hear bells in the air and shout horay for me. My eyes open and I wake up. It's only my alarm going off thats right its Friday. I awaken Oh GOD another day with cancer. Oh well I will fight on with GOD at my side and maybe it'll soon be next Friday.the Friday that I'm cured.

I read your journey. Thought this would help
Bless, O God,
all who struggle with cancer.
Empower them with hope
for each and every day.
Provide them with loving
and tender care, laughter,
and the support of love.
Grant them
courage when they are afraid,
comfort when they are in pain,
and your blessing
when all else seems hopeless,
that in their fight with illness
they may continue to praise you
and glorify your name.
Amen.

Maralyn,
Hello, my name is Carm and I am an oncology nurse. I specialize in gyne cancers so I have had a few patients who have had HIPECS and I have seen them performed. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them. The HIPEC does have such an imposing name and the surgery is longer than most but technically, it is no more than a debulking with a chemo wash except that your surgeon will look at every nook and cranny to find any suspicious lesion. I am always here if you should have any questions, Carm RN.0March 2013 -

Maralyn-how true, thank you for the perspective. I do know what you mean. You hang in there with your treatments and I am praying for you. How did they figure out your cancer? I didn't know the appendix could get cancer hence the rareness. I suppose cancer can affect any organ in the body. Tell me how you are doing ok?kimg090January 2013

Hi Maralyn...i was reading answers to LMM's question and noticed in your answer you discuss your efforts to gain weight. I am 53 yrs. old, 1/2 way through my radiation/chemo and weight loss is a problem. I too drink Boost Plus everyday and peanut butter. I am usually about 105 lbs., have always been slim but am hovering at 93, 94 every day. My doctors are not happy despite my efforts. Man this is hard.0January 2013

Hello from another Appendix Cancer survivor. I was diagnosed at 54, and recently celebrated my 60th birthday in excellent health! Multiple surgeries and chemos later I am in full remission.
I just wanted you to know you are not alone.
