Hi there jackieg. I was surprised I looked half way decent in a black shirt. When I saw this on Facebook I could not pass it up.

Hey lady, saw your response to Barbara about your question. What are you doing up in the wee hours of the morning? Guess I am not the only night owl on this site.

Wow jackieg, thanks for sharing so much of your experiences with this xxx disease. Know the chances of recurrance high but this happening seventeen years after initial diagnosis is so wrong. Glad you are succeeding with your current treatment and ringing that bell. They had no bell where I had my chemo, but I did get a certificate. I am 68 and was diagnosed in 2013 with stage IIIC ovarian cancer. Have been in remission almost a year but elected to keep my chest port in for the time being. I have found great support and information here on the site, many caring people. Hope you will take the time and help answer others questions and perhaps ask some. Our pin board is full of pictures and hopeful sayings. All of us are here for each other. Take care, talk anytime.

Hi there, jackieg; welcome to WhatNext.com. I am so glad to have you with us although I hate the reason. I have a very similar cancer as yours and mine was also stage IV. Makes us sisters of a sort. It's heartening for me to see that you're still around and fighting. When I first got my diagnosis, it seemed like there wasn't much of a future for me but we both know that wasn't true!

Congratulations on finding this wonderful community. I think you'll enjoy it here. The fine folks at WhatNext.com are always around if you have questions, want info on how we handled things or if you just need to vent. And we'd love to hear about your experiences when you're read to share.

    Welcome!!

    Hi jackieg.
Just curious. Was the recurrence 17 years later the same cell type as the first diagnosis? How long did you do follow up the first time? I'm 17 years out myself, so that's why I'm curious about that. Thanks! Robin

Hello jackieg, You have an interesting story to tell. It sounds like not much has changed in treatment of oc since your initial diagnosis. In a way, that's good, but it would be better if they had found some miracle cure. Anyway, you're an inspiration to others that you've made it so far and continue to thrive in spite of continued treatment. OC used to just be a nightmare because no early detection. You were lucky to have found yours early enough to be treated and put into remission. I wish you continued success with your treatment. I also had taxol/carbo for uterine cancer in 2011. In remission, so far. Take care.

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
