Hey there. You've had a lot of input so far and I know that is helping comfort you. The surgery was as another gal has already posted, I had surgery on a Thursday mid day and went home on Friday morning after breakfast. It was not so painful and the 2 drains (only one side) were removed in just at 2 weeks. I used large safety pins to hang the drains. It's not hard to empty them and put them back. I slept in my bed with a pillow for my left arm to rest on and an extra one under my head.
I don't k no why but I had a short spell of huge disappointment and some anger at my ownself and at my regular Dr. But soon I got over that and gave it over to the Lord. I had a huge group of prayer warriors and that was Medicine to me. I'm adding you to my BC prayer list, my dear. I was dx in August 2012 and began treatment in October 2012. My surgery wasn't until after chemo. And radiation followed next. God will give you the strength and stamina to step up to this nasty Cancer. You have a lot of 'sisters' here which care and will pray for you. I hope that is okay with you. God Bless you.0September 2015 -
Hi, bevaschia. I saw your response to Greg's question about how we're dealing with the holidays and I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry about Murdock. He looks like a sweetie. Please take care.0January 2016

Hi bevaschia, I am straight her2 +++, I had taxotere, carboplatin, herceptin. I did not get perjeta. You have plenty of targets for chemo over my just one. I did do a vaccine trial after I completed radiation & herceptin. Much new, sounds like you are getting top notch care.0September 2015

I'm good at listening, will share my experiences and will be part of your cheerleading squad. I'm glad you found us but so sorry for the circumstances that led you here. Wishing you all the best.0September 2015

Hello and welcome, we are sorry for your diagnosis, but we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
