Glad to hear that you are not taking chemo and radiation at the same time. The doctors here in Nashville tried to get me to do both at the same time and I refused. I intended to live and to have a quality of life left after treatment. Follow your own good sense and knowledge. Remember, you are the one that has to live in this body; not the doctors. If you have not read it, get the book "Informed Decisions". Very factual without a lot of scare tactics. Very, very informative. And remember, Fight Like A Girl!!

Hope things still going well for you. Sounded like you handled first chemo just fine, well fine for chemo. Merry Christmas and hopes for a Happier New Year.

Hi....I am also stage III. I had the internal and external radiation. I have had 4 chemo treatments. My white blood count has been too low to have #5. Hopefully tomorrow. I spent a week in the hospital in Oct. due to low blood counts. Good luck to you on your journey!

    HI annettefm,

Sounds like you are.doing okay with treatment. I am stage III, hysterectomy, chemo of taxol/carbo but I could only tolerate four of six treatments. Last week I finished the first half of 28 rads. So far rads are.not a.picnic but NOTHING like chemo. I am able to tolerate nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue. The further I get from chemo the better I feel. I wish you smooth sailing through all your treatment. It has been along haul. I had my surgery on may 1 and thought I would return to work in six weeks. It has now been.six months. I am looking forward to having this all.behind me.

    Sending you warm hugs.

Hi annettefm. Am so sorry you are having to go through what is ahead of you. I would be dreading it too. It is easy for me to say keep the good attitude but I am not the one going thru it. Know I am keeping you in my prayers. I pray you are one of the lucky ones who have an easier time of it.

I think if you are past stage I, you will receive something more than the surgery. But, with stage III, you probably will receive both chemo and radiation. Mine was split up, 3 chemo, 6 weeks radiation, 3 chemo. My doctor just said it works better this way. Here, I thought they were just trying to give me a break from the chemo. Anyway, each had it's side effects, but if they work, it's worth it in the long run. I am working full-time now, so I hope my health continues to allow that. Take care.

I saw Dr. Moore for the first time June 3 and surgery was scheduled for June 14. Due to my history of heart problems had to be cleared by cardiologist. I was cleared but it was after June 14 so I lost that date. Next date I was scheduled for was August 20. The only testing aside from the cardiologist for me, was a blood draw about 10 days before surgery. That was done during pre-op appointment at St. F. where you are given instructions to follow before the surgery.
