Was just reading your posts....I was diagnosed as mediastinal large B cell non Hodgkins lymphoma stage IV in Feb 2011. I am having my last two year maintenance treatment Thursday. So looking forward to no more treatments and at the same time emotional about not having them to keep the ugly at bay.... I see you had stem cell transplant. Doc says if mine comes back that is where I will be. I am 64 and relatively healthy and take no meds. Just want to say "good for you" to go through all and survive. Blessings

Forgot to say that I had no insurance at time of diagnosis and the hospital as well as the doc stepped in to help and the maintenance Retuxin was supplied pro bono by Genentech.

Hi Nicki, Hang in there, sorry to see you are having a tough time of it. I am a follower of Dan7264 and saw your comments on difficulty with your support including your sit down with him the other day, hoping starts giving you the support you need and deserve. I can't imagine how much more difficult this would be without the love and support of my wife and kids.

Hi Nicki, How you feeling this week? I was in relatively decent condition before starting treatments and had a slightly lower than average BP to start with. I have been watching it each time I go in and has been a little high when they check me in before starting treatment a couple of times, but I think it was just a result of me being nervous, because I was able to focus on it and relax and it came down almost immediately, this week going in I was normal. I would definitely get it checked and keep an eye on it.

Hope otherwise your week went well

Wow. You pretend to be one tough cookie. I'm glad you have a good psycho in your life. It really helps to vent & while you do you sometimes notice things about yourself which you hadn't noticed before.

Don't worry about the insignificant other. You know the expression about plenty of fish, yes?

    Hugz.

Wow. I just read your answers to the person whose boss is such a creep. I wish I'd known you for some time now. I was turned down twice for disability and have yet to apply for other aid that I could sorely use. The disability Judge, in fact, told me I might look into being part of an escort service instead and I was so tired and confused I did not even understand what he was saying but just nodded my head.

A gf who was an MD was fired immediately upon diagnosis. She had inoperable liver cancer. We worked together and she survived (well, she actually thrived, doing physical activity like camping and skiing and opening her own clinic) until her MD training had her go in for a biopsy and the surgeon screwed it up and nicked the previously encapsulated but now shrunk to 1/4 size tumor sending the cancer cells all throughout her body. She was dead in six months. She dief a week after I'd found something new but nothing can combat death and she was simply too weakened by that time.

Anyway, lol, back to me and thank you for "listening". I'm on Medicare now, no longer qualified for disability, they tell me. Is there anything I can do? I was a business owner and sole care & support of my Mom and, through my carping (I suppose) my accountant never did file much for FICA and I always stuck a little caret by the signature page of my tax return saying "I have NOT read..." which means I get bupkiss for social security.

My story gets sadder but I don't want to bore you, especially in public. Is there anyplace where I can seek assistance? Thanx.

Best wishes for recovered good health.
