Hi Garson... I read some of the stuff you posted. It sounds like it was a pretty tough experience, but I'm thanking Jesus for you that you made it to the other side... Congrats.
I'm a bit nervous because I'm about to undergo the same thing, it seems the waiting for treatment to begin is brutal because of the anticipation. But with all I've read on this treatment is going to be tough. Chemo and radiation and in that area... Wow.
Anyway I will keep checking back to see if any new post from you, God bless and once again congrats.

sorry you are having these issues, I have been there and went thru that part. It has gotten way better, my appetite is slowly coming back, I am finally regaining some energy. But the irritation below is still there, I am scheduled to visit my radiologist so we can come up with a plan for this. I was having problems with having urinary tract infec., every other week, but the yogurt and cranberry pills are helping with that. It's hard to eat the yogurt, not my favorite food.
I went yesterday for another chemo.treatment but had to get a bag of iron and one bag of blood, due to extremely low red cells, and my blood pressure was real low. I have to go back next week for bloodwork, and possible blood and iron again. TAKE CARE!! I will praying for you!!

I'm going into my ENT tomorrow to see about something for thrush on both ends. I need an ear stent-surgery and radiation messed up my right sinus and ear. I eat yogurt and take macrobiotics, but the frequency of sinus infection meds gave me thrush. I used vaginal cream -OTC- to clear up the bottom, but I still have it in my mouth-I'm brushing like mad-under the tongue, cheeks, gums, etc. and gargling Listerine big time. I bought the vaginal stuff- made an appt with primary care to let him know about the stent, the antibiotic problem with my system, and follow up about the last sinus infection. He cancelled on the day of the appt. Then he wonders why he's left out of the loop---

12 years ago I was in a similar pickle as you. I've always eaten fairly well so I did not get the thrush but I had an assortment of other horrid things with which to contend.

Some day you will look back on all this and think "My gosh, how did I get through that??! Thanx, Universe, for keeping me around."

Did the doc offer you a cream or pills for the thrush?

    Get well soon.

Garson, I read your treatment plan. Ask your Rad/Onc about stenosis and pelvic floor muscle therapy through a physical therapist. Radiation will cause stenosis you will have to likely follow up with Gyno doc also. Start using cream now to areas being hit. Are you married have a fam?

Sorry you had to find this place. But luckily you found it early. Was it a scheduled screening that it was found or did you have symptoms? If you did what were they. Treatment is tough but doable. You are so fortunate to have caught it early, your gonna be fine.

Just saw that you had joined this site. I had the same diagnosis 8 years ago, except that I was Stage 3b. Here it is, 8 years later and I'm doing great. It's a rough road but you can do it and you will. Wishing you all the best.
