Have to share my good news...A Wonderful Day...my PET scan results show no cancer, all clear. Suddenly all of the post radiation aches and pains don't seem to hurt as much. Looking forward to Spring here in upstate New York. Yipeeee.0April 2013

W3...thanks for info. more questions..originally I had an external anal cancer lesion which they removed in surgery and a mass found inside (which was then targeted w/ radiation). I am in the waiting zone right now after chemo/radiation treatments that ended at end of Jan. Have PET scan this Friday.
Can the PET scan show the mass as well if still there or does it just light up any cancer cells and that is all? I have this sick feeling the mass is still there and they will have to do surgery to remove and then the ....ostomy thing. I hope not. I'm so nervous.0March 2013 -
Warrior3...i completed my chemo/radiation at end of January. I am still not back to work due to a tough recovery (from radiation). I wondered when you had surgery in your treatment plan and whether you returned to work. Did you have a mass as well? I will have a PET scan next week and surgeon plans to take a look inside for mass in hospital in early May. I am going crazy as I don't know when or if I will be able to return to work. gsusan0March 2013

thanks warrior3...trying to drink 3 Boosts a day including meals and grazing. A challenge but doing my best. My butt starting to hurt from the daily blowtorching! Three weeks to go.
On my daily drive to radiation I pass many beautiful hawks in different roadside wooded areas here in upstate new york...soaking up the winter sun and looking down on their respective territories. Always makes me smile and feel peace for a few moments.0January 2013 -
Warrior3, so glad to hear of your 7th year free. Praise God each year is a blessing.
Yes, the waiting is very difficult, I do a lot more praying and allow my self to get lost in the Bible for strength. I plan on having a list of questions ready and will have folks with me when I meet oncologist on Thursday. I too, will be willing to work my butt off (literally & figuratively) to get to where you are. Best wishes to you.0January 2013 -
Thank you warrior3 for support. (loooove your name photo... hawk?..i am obsessed w/ hawks). I have three more weeks of radiation (3 down) and one more round of 96 hr chemo (via port, at home w/ chemo pump). My hair is starting to fall out which they said was unlikely. I am struggling to hang onto 95 pound weight though my whole life i've been 105ish. Drinking Boost Plus everyday. Mine is stage 1 but the mass is pretty large.0January 2013

Hi; Congratulations. I am 10 years to the other side of anal cancer too. I underwent a surgery to remove the original tumor, behind my anus, and 16 weeks of radiation and two bouts of chemotherapy. I still have residual damage. How are you doing? Thanx. And congratulations on being alive. :-]0October 2012

Iliked your answer to my hydration question. Sometimes I think I'm doomed-I was always the last kid at the dinner table, being punished for not eating my veggies.I dislike drinking alot of liquids because it makes my pooh gross, runny and stinky! Will I never "get over" my pooh pouch? I'm so anal about it-as soon as I sense action down there I am in the loo trying to clean up.Don't get me wrong-this is tongue in cheek.Just that I have had a bad relationship with food ever since I was diagnosed. Darned if you do.and darned if you don't-know what I mean?:)0November 2012
