Tbyrd, wow you have one left and the three others have disappeared. That is good to hear. I don't understand why they have not re-staged you and I certainly don't know why your doc would give you advanced med directives. You have been on my mind a lot lately. I find it comforting that people we have never met or seen can become part of our thought process and part of our prayer life.
So none of this has entered your lymph nodes? Were they able to do surgery on you? I was not able to it seems this stuff is in several lymph nodes one being too close to the aorta, so I go to City Of Hope in two weeks to see if they can offer me just that (hope) cuz my current Onc isn't the most upbeat person when it comes to looking over my reports.
I go in on Wednesday to start cocktail, not looking forward to that just started to get some energy back this week now process will begin again. I hope the side affects aren't too harsh on you with this new drug. Is the pain killer helping any? I remember you saying they were gonna switch them over to the more stronger one.
I read the ? You posted about husband. Mine only went to my first appt. he will not go with me for test or treatments either. He has a hard time listening to my request on final arrangements. He says you do not know what God has planned where is the faith we once shared? I respond with a calmly..... He has a plan however no one knows of that plan but Him, it is my faith that tells me this, yes I may struggle with my faith but I refuse to let it go. I tell him how many times has pastor said that God some times answers with yes, no or not right now. All of this is very hard on everyone who loves us Tbryd. Know that he loves you, guys are used to fixing stuff and this is something that can't fix they don't know how to express themselves. Just know that he loves you.
Thinking of you, holding you in prayer.

T~ I am glad to hear your heart is good and that chemo you told doc about is maintaining. Mine stopped so I was switched to two other drugs, I don't know as of yet if they are doing what they are suppose to do. Spirit is low. I have so much anger and sadness. How do you deal with each day? ~ lisa

Those sores in mouth SUCK. Makes it eating so hard. They have switched chemo to taxol and oxyplatin I think that was the name. LastCT came back stating things are getting worse so they changed chemos. This one really is making neuropathy more severe. How is heart doing, did you get to see doc about that ?

Tbyrd, what is abraxane? A pain med or chemo? If chemo is it for our specific type? 5FU and Cisplatin are being used once again on me. That cocktail was able to get me to NED once before but if not able to this time, I want to know what else is out there being used cuz my Onc acts as if he hasn't a clue what do if it doesn't. He actually handed me advanced medical directives forms to fill out on my last visit. I was floored. He claims to be a Christian, i thought doesn't he know God is control of this not him.
I have pain killers too, had to use them once for an intense pain on right side of abs. All it did was help me to fall asleep for a couple hours. So now when I get aches and pains I ride it out. I hate the thought of putting more junk inside. I fear the day of morphine. I wish you GOD'S speed to pull through once again. In my prayers and thoughts are with you. Hugs~ lisa

Tbyrd, my name is Lisa and I too am a IV. I am 49 married to an amazing man with two amazing children. I was diagnosed on dec 18, 2012 with this evil thing. I began chemo on feb 7, 2013 and then in oct '13 did 26 rounds of daily radiation with chemo the first week and in the 4th week. Doc said I was in remission on dec 19, 2013. (how these dates are seared into my memory). In mid April, last scan showed devil returned. It is in regional and distant lymph nodes. Liver and lungs are still clear. I started back on chemo two weeks ago next round scheduled for next week. May I ask where else are they seeing cancer cells besides the primary? I ask because I keep hearing doc after doc call me a puzzle because of the distant node it went to. Where are you being treated and what are oncs telling you regarding prognosis?
