Hi, chattmn. I saw some of your posts. Good luck to you on your surgeries. Please let us know how you're doing when/if you want to share. You mentioned the waiting getting to you a bit. Yeah, a lot of folks - including me - feel that way. Sometimes it seems like the waiting is one of the worse parts of this whole deal.

I'm glad you found this web site. It's a great resource. There are a lot of wonderful people here - very kind, helpful and supportive.

Have fun at your class reunion this weekend. I hope you can forget about this other stuff for a while and just have a good time with friends. BTW, I love the meaning of "Rain/Rayne" - thank you for sharing that. My husband's name is Michael and sometimes I use a different name when we are at restaurants and public events, too. Take care.

BE sure to ask your many doctors about your tests and what the answers mean to you. You and your caregivers deserve the information. Do not be afraid to look stupid we are not all doctors that's what we pay them for remember that at all your appointments.

Hi, just wanted to wish you the best with your two surgeries. I am a 63 year old lady trying to survive ovarian cancer. I was in remission for over a year but the scan done after my doc visit this month revealed two new masses. I am praying it all turns out to be scar tissue or something, but that may be a little unrealistic. I will find out tomorrow from the onc nurse if the doctor thinks it is more serious. Anyway, they could also be benign. The best advice I think I could give you is to stay positive. Cancer may be a monster but now more or less a managable disease (although very not fair to us). Some of the constant testing and medical lingo will get to you, but it is not necessarily end of life stuff anymore. So, just do what you are doing, research and learn as much as you can about your condition so you will not be alarmed about the little things that may come up now and then to surprise you.I found little distractions when I was going through chemo since I had to slow down and let my body heal.. not as physical, but enjoyable. going to the library, short walks, menu research and nutrician focus. I had a new job; it was getting well. For once in my life it was all about me, and it had to be. So, stay strong, we are older and need to be kinder to ourself, it is ok to put yourself and health first believe me. Stay away from negative people or situations if at all possible. Put on some oldies tunes and dance around in the room, I did, LOL All my best, Jean

I've been doing chemo since Dec. 2012. I have chemo scheduled until the end of August then my oncologist wants me to have the HIPEC procedure. Everything has been going well for me so far. I've had very few side effects from my chemo. I've kept a positive attitude for the most part and my FAITH has gotten me through this difficult time in my life. I'm not going to let this cancer beat me!!
