I just was reading about your journey,You and all thee others I have read about just totally amaze me.Just the sharing that helps so very many. I had mentioned a hospital bed to my cousin about 6 months into his diagnosis and he just was not interested then and now is in much worse shape.I am going to spend some time with his mother today and am quite anxious about it.I am hoping to talk with Norm later and again bring up the hospital bed. Hi, I too had uterine cancer and now large nodules on my thyroid. How did they find the thyroid cancer and did you have symptoms?
I'm having tightness in my neck and want to have the thyroid removed. Biopsy on one side was negative but on the other side was inconclusive due to small size of nodules. How was the thyroid surgery for you? Thank you, Mary Jo

As far as SSDI it is federal. Yet the state of Az says they are over paying me. Granted I do get 46.00 dollars in food stamps per month, but that's it. The state of Az also pays my Medicare part B as well. And I do have Medicare advantage supplemental insurance as secondary through Cigna. Im worried about the extra cost, other expenses and so on. Someone said American Cancer Society does have some input as far as food and where to go for it. It just seems to be a maze of hoops and hops with no clear direction as I see it.

Cam…did your bladder hold up. I know you said the extreme diarrhea. Did your radiology oncologist said to drink plenty of water before radiation? And lastly, did you need to wear depends since the diarrhea was so bad. Thanks.

Thanks for your input on my situation My cancer the first time was 13 yrs ago and I had a partial masectomy followed by 8 wks of radiation. I was burnt to a crisp the first week and only slightly tired out. Now this time 13 yrs later, same breast different type of cancer this time it was triple negative but thankfully no nodes involved but it was aggressive it grew bigger between the time I saw the dr. and 3 wks later when I had the masectomy. I choose not to get chemo even though the dr did want me to have it. My reasons for not going the chemo route were right for me. The side effects being neuropathy and damage to my heart weren't something I needed. I already have neuropathy bad enough that at times I can't hold a glass the thought of it being worse not something I needed and more damage to my heart not and option. I had open heart surgery 40 yrs ago when I was 11 yrs old and my risk for reoccurrance would have only changed by 5% had I gone the chemo route but much higher odds of damage to my heart so like I said not going route was the right choice for me. I do have other medical issues that I live with on a daily basis and actually to look at me you wouldn't guess that I am as sick as I am I have and appt. with my endo in a few weeks so I am gonna ask him if any of my many meds need to be upped or if there is anything that I can do to get over this exhaustion. I refuse to give up, I still take my furbaby for his daily walks every single day regardless of how I feel or what the weather is like. We walk for and hour at a time so I am getting enough excersize every day Thanks again and I pray that you and your family have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR.

Thanks for answering. I heard it wouldn't be as bad, but that was not from a recipient like you or I. It soundss like I just going to trade chemo names but not the reactions. This way I am prepared,
and not disappointed.

Thanks for responding to my chemo brain question. I have been a domestic engineer for 6 1/2 years. I am hoping to get my dream job in February. I will be working with cancer patients, who are active in treatment and post treatment, by guiding them in a wellness program, including fitness and diet. I believe, as you do, that this will help improve my brain.

I've heard that cranberry juice (unsweetened) helps ward off/fight UTIs.

Two years, congratulations. That's wonderful. I'm so self involved, looking for something positive. Of course I'm reaching the age where something will get me. Just want quality of life. You are young. Lot of years ahead. Keep going.

I appreciiate your response. Everything seems so dismal...its hard when you have some family members who arent as positive which is what brought me to my question. Im really afraid of what the outcome will be because the initial intraveneous chemo didnt attack the leukemia. What are the chances the oral will do the job. Diff drug? So scary...thanks for sharing! Cam, what A horrible experience! I am not at all knowledgeable about anesthesia. I can't make a knowledgeable observation. But I am horrified to hear this.

I saw from a posting you had Stage 3 uterine cancer previously, which is what I've been diagnosed. I've had the surgery, now just waiting for post-op appt & discussion of treatment plan on the 14th. Did you have chemo & radiation, or just one of those? Just trying to mentally prepare as well as I can I guess.

Do you remember what chemo pill your mother was taking?

Hey ho. I also have/had loose stool (I'm being polite, of course). I take 'enzymes' which helps a LOT. I've tried different brands as well as eating more food which contains the enzymes. The best help I've found is made by Biotec and called "Cell Guard". Just follow the package directions .. it is made from (organic the owners told me when I called them at home) sprouts. Best wishes

Not EVERYONE burns from radiation. I did not--but I do know I was one of a lucky few at my center.
