Hi. You did not go into any detail. Cant blame you. On the forefront, dilators are helpful. Pomegranate oil is healing. Almond oil is less expensive. Both can be used internally.

Otherwise, do kegel exercises until you are exhausted. Black seed oil is soothing. It can be swallowed. To tell you the truth, it was four years until I could use toilet paper again. I still bleed from a radiation scar but not so much. Invest in a bidet.

    Best healing wishes.

ladyd2013, as you can see from the community input you are far from alone . We are all trying to adjust to our own " new normal" as best we can. You mentioned episodes of crying. I had such episodes early on when first diagnosed. I thought I was handling things relatively well when my primary doctor recommended placing me on an antidepressent. My first impulse was to tell him no, but then considered this medication as another weapon in the arsenal to fight this xxx disease. I was really suprised that it did help me. The crying was a thing of the past. I have been on a mild dose of anti depressant now for seventeen months. Think about it and discuss with your doctor if you chose. Always wishing you better days ahead lady. Talk anytime.

I just read your posts and wanted to see how you are doing. I am not experiencing, for the most part, the loss of control. Sometimes the bowels are more urgent but not too bad. My problems are the vaginal canal and the stenosis. Never thought I would be dealing with this to this level! Hope you are doing better. I, too, have the hip and groin pain, and sometimes my hips seem to almost lock up! It does hurt doesn't it??

I know that Xeloda is used to manage a bunch of different types of cancers, sometimes for early stage cancers but usually to manage people like me with late stage cancers, where they are treating it as a chronic illness. I would ask each doctor why are they changing your routine around, are they giving you a break? What is the deal? Maybe you don't need it anymore? That would be great, but sometimes doctors aren't very good at explaining things and you have to kind of pry it out of them! I have breast cancer but there is a woman in my support group with anal cancer, she is stage 2 but she isn't on Xeloda, at least not at this time. My oncologist has given me little breaks from the Xeloda but unfortunately in my case the cancer always starts acting up again when I am off treatment so honestly I don't like to go off of it anymore, it feels more like I am giving the cancer a break than myself when I let it flare up again. Good luck and best wishes with this!!!!

Good morning! I hope this finds you well. Give the healing time. Don't be surprised be low energy or feeling cruddy. I got home from completing treatment just before Christmas and I just expected to be normal! I didn't, of course, so I just focused on being finished and Christmas!! Thinking about you!
