Hi there! I'm a stage IV ovarian/fallopian tube cancer survivor and I'm happy to meet you. Although I wish neither of us was here.
Now that we are though, there are terrific tools and resources to help us on our journey. The other people here are amazing too. They know so much and are willing to share it all. Please ask any questions you may have here - you are guaranteed to get some helpful answers.
I'm happy to discuss my journey thus far too. I've had ups and downs but it's mostly good now. I'm off to chemo this afternoon but look forward to getting to know you better.
All the best,

I was diagnosed in November 2013. Just had my 5th treatment - 3 to go. I had a horrible experience with chemo first 2 treatments. The Dr. adjusted my dosage & the chemo has been controllable with the nausea meds. You just need to take this day by day. Your wife will need your daily support more than ever. My husband started cooking since food was no longer a priority for me. Nothing tasted good & some food being cooked actually made me sick. I lost 40 lbs the first 2 months. This site is a big support system & I find myself asking questions & getting moral support just with others kind words. Your wife can do this & with your help, it will be so much easier. Keep us updated on how you both are doing - we are here for you.0May 2014

NEEMAandGUG.cancer blindsided me last Aug.I had been misdiagnosed for seven months with epigastric complaints. When I could no longer eat a CT scan was done revealing the cancer. My husband and I were both in denial and shock at first then angry it took so long before diagnosis. I became depressed and was,and still am,on a mild anti depressant.I am 67, my husband 71, we have been married 48 years and he is the love of my life.Over the next seven months thru chemo, surgery and more chemo he was at my side. This MEANT EVERYTHING. Fighting cancer is scary but my husband, family, and the people on this site gave me the support I needed. My husband said from the beginning we were in this together and we were.I am two months post chemo and am in remission .I was diagnosed with IIIC ovarian cancer. They told me when I joined this site that chemo was not easy but DOABLE! I tell you the same thing. You two have each other and that is powerful medicine.Take care, talk anytime.0May 2014

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us.Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/ovarian-and-fallopian-tube-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend
