Welcome. Yes, I had neuropathy from BC in '06. I took everything prescribed. Dr. said it would go away, but not for 5 years. Then I was able to sew again w/o pain. Now, I have MBC. I've got neuropathy again, but I don't seem to be bothered as before. Not sure why. I'm 73 & I have a lot of aches & pains. I saw where someone posted that they tried cannabis cream. My daughter got me some. I put it on my feet twice a day. My feet don't feel normal, but at this stage I'm not sure what is normal. They don't burn or hurt as badly. I'm going to stop taking the Gabapentin as it makes me dizzy & I don't think it is working. It didn't work in '06, either. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Jouska, that is a very broad question regarding your driving after chemo. A lot depends on the type of chemo & how well you do. Today, I drive for my Herceptin infusion, but husband takes me home. Also, how far are you driving & the traffic conditions. While I have good insurance, I don't want to cause an accident. If my chemo brain is bad, I don't get behind the wheel. Each one of us has different effects from different chemo treatments. I'm sorry that I couldn't be more helpful or positive. Good luck with your treatment.

Ill be 61 tomorrow and am having the same. Go to www.rxlist.com/arimidex-drug/side-effects-interactions
And let me know if any of the information there rings true with you. I am leaning toward the side effects as the source of my problems.

Thank you Jouska...I did get a CAT scan at Urgent Care. I definitely know what it is. My Oncologist was called the next day and began ordering blood work , bone scans, more CAT scans and of course biopsy. The reason I even went into Urgent Care last week was because Herceptin had affected my heart and I thought it was acting up, oddly enough after about nine months my heart is back to normal, but Urgent Care doc was pretty thorough and it was discovered it's definitely in the lungs. I had blood work the next day and my CEA antigin is very high. The X-rays and CT scan went into great detail. I mean I know everyone is saying wait for the biopsy but the writing is on the wall. What are skin mets? I don't even know what that is.

Jouska...just watched the PBS special you listed in the thread regarding Herceptin. Gave me such a better understanding of the whole picture. Strange way to spend a Labor Day holiday...but actually lifted a weight of doubt and uncertainty off my shoulders. Even tho I am 61/2 years post treatment and clear...it is never really off my mind. This should help. Now...if they can get rid of the Arimidex side effects....

Hi and welcome! I also am HER2 positive, stage IIb. I was on a trial for Perjeta where neither my doctor nor I know if I actually received the drug or a placebo. So did you start having the rash right after your infusion of Perjeta or during your infusion? How many more Herceptin treatments do you have left? How long ago did you have tram flap reconstruction? I had bilateral, delayed diep flap reconstruction in July.

    Blessings!

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.
