Hi, this was a reoccurance. I had been fine for 14 years. I was stunned. I think I always thought if it came back, it would be in my other breast. This was not what I expected. Thankfully, Ibrance has been working. I feel almost "normal" again. If I keep busy, I don't always think about it. I am trying to remind myself it took awhile the first time around to recover. Hope for the same!!! I do like reading the posts of all survivors who are years out.

I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer 5 weeks ago and will have my second round of chemo this next week. Do you know what chemo meds you were given. It gives me hope after reading your post that you have been well for 4 years now.

You mentioned vaginal dryness. Mine was like sandpaper. I tried a lubricant with menthol in it. Whenever I went to the bathroom, I put a little bit on. Not only did it work for me, but the menthol healed the chafing. If you think it might work for you, let me know. We are on our way to Florida and the bottle is in my suitcase. As soon as we get to the condo, I can let you know the brand name.

Leslie, don't believe everything your doctor tells you - the simple truth is, they don't KNOW everything! I know two Stage IV cancer survivors who ARE considered cancer free now, so it is possible. I wrote an article about Stage IV cancer just this week on my blog, let me know if you'd like to view the article (there are some useful tips within it). I also talk a little bit about my friends' journey that you might like to see. So take that "sock" out of your gut and bring some hope back into your life. You can do this! It won't be easy, you're going to have to work hard at it, but I'm telling you it's possible and I've seen it with my own eyes. Sending big hugs from Denver.
