Dear JeanB, just checking in to see how you are managing with your cancer as you haven't posted in awhile. I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with Uterine papillary serous carcinoma and we are trying to get some idea of what the future looks like...

    Hi Jean,
Please let me know when you are going and how many days you have to spend....I would love to help a little if I could, I worked in the travel industry for decades and it would fun for me to revisit my past. :-) Wonderful choice by the way! bring your hiking boots if you like! xoxoxoxo Jane

Thank you. I am doing much better but it has been a tough year. I am hoping that in 2014 I will be able to get a prosthesis and learn to walk again.

Enjoy the brake from chemo and tried to eat lots of protein, I always heard it helps. Good nutrition is important if you can keep down your food. God be with you.

Hi JeanB I had my chemo Tues. and today the ache will start so I will have a quiet day. The next few days may be a little tough but some of the meds help and sleep a lot. This was #7 Dr. feels the tumors are changing and some are gone. Not sure how many more chemo treatments 2 or 5 for the future. Hope your treatment goes well too.

I noticed that there are a couple fires burning in your area. How is the air. It has been my experiance that the smoke blows off better in Twin than here in Boise. Where I live in the Northend gets it worse of all ?

Hello Jean, thank you so much! I'm keeping up to date on you as well. The cardiology appointment is this Friday. The Pulmonary physician is this coming Monday. From what these two say, particularly the cardiologist, Dr Brockmeyer will determine surgery or no. I have a bad heart: enlarged, murmur, bundle branch block left side. This is the big issue. If no surgery chemo and radiation in its absence. If surgery chemo and radiation in its wake. My hematology doctor and my radiation doctor are no longer at VM but two physicians I knew during SEED therapy are still at Virginia Mason. Dr Brockmeyer is asking my insurer to permit a Virginia Mason internist, asking Molina to let everyone be at Virginia Mason until United Healthcare accepts me.

Hi JeanB, You are so right, I see so many newly diagnosed people on WhatNext with the same questions and concerns. I first went to the doctor in March, diagnosed in May, surgery will be in July. I now think that was to long a time frame. It's terrible not knowing, then finding out the things you should have done. The advice and knowledge of others has helped me to feel more confident of what I should do and what care I should expect. Thanks, sherrya

Good luck with your journey. I was also stage III. Finished my treatments and am in maintenance mode... see the doctor every three months. I had pretty strong "chemo brain" side effects that I am just now seeing end. Find the humor in each day. It will make the days and treatments go by much faster!

I have the same diagnosis as you, about a year ahead of you. What you're going through is pretty tough, but you'll make it. Good luck, and don't hesitate to ask for any other information you may need.

Hey Jean. I've always considered myself to be comic relief. It's how I got thru treatment. In the hospital, the nurses and aides liked me because I was polite & had a sense of humor. I'm serious when need be, but I couldn't have gotten thru this if I couldn't laugh, even @ myself. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. : )

I am praying that you got to Twin safely before the storm. Sorry you had to be a pawn in the jurisdiction battles. These guys are not team players, I am sorry to say.
