Hi Esther, My Sioux Falls Comrade. Wonder how you are doing? I am in my 3rd round of chemo. That makes every Winter 2013, 2014 and again in 2015. Disappointing with my CT in November and trying to maintain a good quality of life. Hope you are doing well?0January 2015

Hi Esther. I see you've elected to follow me. Hope you enjoy comic relief. I can be a bit sardonic now & then. Hope all is going well in your world.0December 2014

Hi, Estherj. See you are following me. See you are recurrent? Sorry, of course this is what we all dread and watch for. What was your DX originally if you don't mind my asking and what is it now? I finished chemo a year ago so far NED but have a small nodule on my thyroid gland. Of course don't know what it is yet. I'm really interested where your Cancer came back and treatment. Did you have symptoms? Forgive me if this is too personal.0December 2014

Thanks, Estherj! I was doing so well with my initial treatments....then developed "platinum resistance." Am feeling very ....hopeless, in terms of survival...beyond a year. Did attend a conference put on by Foundation for Women's Cancer yesterday and a 5krun/1mi. walk (I walked,) today. Gotta stay active, involved with others. Other tools? (P.S. I went to grad school, years ago, in SD!)0November 2014

May I asked how you found the cancer was back? Right now I'm NED serous Uterine Stage 2 Grade 3. I'm 73, nothing told me I had cancer, had surgery for a blockage in iliac artery, saw a thickening endometrium. Finished chemo January 2014. Looking at this site it appears it goes to the lungs, my oncologist said goes to vaginal cuff. I'm sorry for your recurrence, got to be hard. How is your treatment different? I feel so rude asking you these questions but I live alone and like all of us I want to stay here.0August 2014

Thank you for following me Esther. I know that we can all benefit by this shared information. Wishing you all the best.0July 2014

Hi Estherj,
Yes this is often considered a chronic illness. But hey that means it can be treated. I also have a spot on my lung but it has been stable for a number of years and is considered too small to deal with. I have had several chemos and surgeries. The last was January of this year. I had part of my liver removed as well as the right adrenal gland and they "peeled" the top of my right kidney. For the first time in 11 years I am considered to be NED, (no evidence of disease). I took Megestrol for 6 years prior to its failure to stop progression. Until something turns up on my ct they are not treating me. Scans every 3 months.0July 2014 -
I am so happy for you-Happy 4th. I was wondering if you can tell me if there's anything else to drink (other than water-somewhat healthy) during treatment. Sis is not crazy about water. And previously you mentioned blood clots in your legs? Did you have to have anything done for that or just watch and baby aspirin? So much of what of I read sounds familiar so I hope you don't mind my questions. I am blessed to have you.0July 2014

Hi, thanks for your response. Did they put you on antibiotics for 5 months straight? The infectious disease dr in the hospital mentioned that people who get it frequently could be on a low-dose antibiotic as a preventative measure but the oncologist wants to wait, as it was her first treatment. Also, we get mixed answers on how to prevent it. Everything i read says to keep cream on the legs to prevent dryness and cracks but the oncologist said to keep it powdered so there's no moisture. I am so sorry you have been through so much.0June 2014

Hi Estherj, So sorry, that's something you never want to hear. It has been exactly a year since I knew something was wrong. I had surgery in July, then chemo. I'm having a biopsy on my enlarged lymph nodes, hopefully this week. Is it considered a recurrence in the same year? Hope you are feeling well, and good luck.0February 2014

Hello Estherj,
I was diagnosed more than a year ago and treated with radiation and surgery. My doctor did not explain about my cancer and had to do much of the research myself. I was 1b with vascular involvement. Did you know that means I have more of a risk of recurrence? No one told me! My ct scan in July showed everything was okay. They failed to mention a lesion on my kidney and a nodule on my lung. I had another ct scan in November due to a lump caused by cellulitis...another gift from radiation....and in that short time another 9 mm nodule showed up in my lung. They are waiting until March to do a pet scan.
Just wondering if you or others on this wonderful site get really tired of having to wait. I find it very hard to be positive every single day. Going out with friends wears me out as I am acting happy for them.
Thank you for listening!0December 2013 -

Hi Estherj, How did your chemo go? Mine was postponed until next week. Everything looked good except for my platelets so my doctor scheduled it for next week. Hope all went well with your treatment.0October 2013
