Hi,
If you feel like something is missing - ask for it and get it done.
I always keep my medical records with me and learn what they mean.
If you are have a lot of documents you can use an app - I use a really good ipad app called Hello Doctor http://goo.gl/qoxG1j
It's free and super simple to use, try it.
Good luck!0December 2013 -

Hello, sorry you are here.
Catch up on reading fast.. Go to the lung cancer alliance and find out the lung cancer experts in your area.. Watch the Bonnie j. Addario webinars and go to cancer grace and read some of the material there. Also visit cancer commons to learn more abt. mutation testing. good luck0October 2013 -
Your mothers oncologist should test her cancer (using biopsy tissue) for at least the most common genetic mutations and rearangements. ALK, EGFR are the most common. There are effective treatments for these. I believe there is a testing panel for about 40 mutations now, but see what the onc says. If he/she doesn't know what you are talking about, you will want to get to a regional cancer center and consult with a Thoracic Oncologist asap (I would do this anyway for a second opinion on treatment). Call her onc and ask if they have sent the sample tissues for testing yet.0October 2013

Hi there. You were just diagnosed? Well I had breast cancer 12 yrs ago and used to smoke. I had a cat scan done on my abdomin the other day and they saw a 13mm(?) nodule on my right lung so now are scheduling me for a full lung cat scan. Think with my history my chances are pretty high. Had you had cancer before, have you ever been a smoker?0October 2013
