Hello! I haven't been on this site for ages but you've been on my mind and I wanted to check in. I'm just reading about your CA-125 and am praying hard for a continued NED report! My doc told me last year so many things can raise it, that it responds to inflammation. I'll be anxiously awaiting your scan results-
I'm sending hugs and healing light your way. XOXO0September 2015 -

IronMom45, didn't you go to the doctor today? What did you learn? I am hoping there is a simple explanation for the high CA-125 numbers, but I've been worrying.0September 2015

I am pretty certain I will do the brachytherapy, just not sure I will do the external radiation because of the side effects you listed. I was told there could be permanent damage to my abdomen and only decrease my chance of recurrence only 1%-2%, so I am inclined to feel it's not worth the risk. As my diagnosis indicates, I had 2 types of cancer, both of them aggressive. I want to put a stop to any recurrence now if I can and trying to gather as much information as I can to hopefully with the help of my onc & radiologist, make the best decide I can possibly make. Your opinion of brachytherapy please.0September 2015

Hi IronMom45 Just wondering how you are doing. I pray for you. You have a positive attitude and a truly caring soul. I will continue to pray for your increased energy and outside help as needed. Blessings to you! Tamie0July 2015

I tried olive leaf capsules and Turmeric. I get it at Vitacost. It helped me a lot, and it got my BP down, while my thyroid was still high. They gave me a BP med and I had a fall- cracked my head and skinned up my leg enough for it to bleed. I asked them if they were trying to kill me? That question got me a decent doctor that got my thyroid down, which lowered my BP more.0July 2015

Thanks for asking
Last weeks chemo was postponed due to low blood count. Then last Thursday I bit into something hard and broke my back tooth.
I called the dentist it was really hurting. My dentist told because of chemo and low blood count that he had to send me to an oral surgeon who is making me take 2000 mg antibiotics per day until today when he is going to pull it. Yesterday got my results on Monday's blood test and every thing is good so they scheduled my chemo for Thursday. So today extraction tomorrow chemo.
Meanwhile the oral surgeon is costing me $500.00 out of pocket.
How are you doing? Back to work?0June 2015 -
Hi IronMom! Just wondering how you are doing these days? I have been swimming every morning and it has helped my lymphedema tremendously. If you have access to a pool, I would highly recommend that you give it a try! I am all set to have a PET scan on my June 4th appointment. Glad for all the encouragement that made me be pushy. Still wondering why endometrial cancer has such a hands off approach to looking for recurrence??? Have a great weekend!0May 2015

Sweet Lady, I'm off for six mos, got a clear PET today, hurray! see my post, there are complications, but they're not cancer. Just wanted to say to you that you were the BEST help and most detailed support. I don't know how you do it, your homelife doesn't give it to you and you still give it to all of us. There's no end to my admiration. Praying for your recovery, always. blessings.0May 2015

Finally had some success. Reported the pcp to her administrator of the group she belongs to and she helped me get my referral. Went Fiday and had the dye test for the port. All was working well except you can't draw blood. So I have my 3rd treatment Monday.0May 2015

Well after running to get the needless blood test so I can get my referral for the port flush, the doctor is still working on it. No one even spoke to me today other than the rude receptionist.
I had a chemo scheduled for tomorrow. Now's it's a week that she is sitting on the referral.
I should be able to report her to someone. It's been 5 weeks since my last chemo. I haven't been able to sleep well the last 2 nights.
She has me so upset.

I think you need to get a t-shirt designed with a wig silhouette, a hand touching it, and a red circle with a line though it. Maybe add "No Touch" underneath. Of course, maybe I would haven't gotten more dates if I'd have been the touchy-feely type when I was younger!0May 2015

Thanks for your reply! Congratulations on your successful treatment! You just gave me hope : )0May 2015

Hi
Well still haven't got to the hospital to dissolve the clot. Primary doctor refused to sign the referral because the procedure did not have a name 2 days later the oncologist convinced her it didn't have a specific name. Then she decided she wasn't going to sign it because I didn't have a recent blood test. Well the last test I had was Friday the 24th. So she said the hospital was insisting on it. My oncologist called the hospital and they asked her why would I need a blood test all they needed was me and the referral. So my oncologist. Called the primary and spoke with the doctors secretary Carmen who calls the hospital herself. The hospital tells her tithe same thing that they have everything they need. So Carmen calls and tells me to forget about it.
Now 1/2 hour later Carmen called and told me the doctor is refusing to sign off until I go have the blood test. It's now 3:00 and the results will be back Monday.
A week later and still no referral. Not the first time she has done this to me. I was about to cry. I probably wouldn't have to be going thru any of this if it weren't for her.0May 2015 -
Hi
Went for 3rd chemo and they couldn't get the port to function. They put heparin in it and said they think it's clogged with a blood clot. So they are sending me to the hospital. Does this sound normal?0April 2015 -
Vinegar pills? Health food store? Thought of just buying diuretic over counter.0April 2015

Sorry about your pain. I can relate. Ever since they have been giving me the shots between the bone pain and the projectile vomiting and spending long nights in the bathroom getting no sleep I am miserable. On top of that I have been constipated.
What more fun can I want. Yesterday was my last day for a while for the shots. Hope things get better for both of us.0April 2015 -
Hi IronMom! Just wondering how you are doing with the lymphedema? If you find out any new info, please pass it on to me. After reading the post on lymph node transplants, I looked it up. I only see it used for breast cancer survivors. Not sure if you and I would have any "spare" nodes left to move around anyway! Have a great day!0April 2015

I just had my regular followup with oncologist, complained about swelling in legs. Will be evaluated for lymph massage to see if that helps. Know should be wearing stockings but am not limber enough to get on and off. Can handle the below knee but need up thigh. Know you are getting massage, does it help?0April 2015

Apparently my neutrophils are low. They are at 700 and need to be at 1500. I had a test Friday and again today. I was supposed to have chem tomorrow but they postponed. I have to do the blood test again Tuesday. Kind of disappointing.0April 2015

Hi
I have a question. I am scheduled for 2nd chemo this Thursday. I went to the oncologist today and he said that one of the numbers from last Friday's blood test was l lower than it should be. So I have to get another blood test tomorrow and they will decide if I get chemo Thursday or if they will have to give me shots. Is all this normal.
How are you feeling?0March 2015 -
Thanks. You know if I have a problem I go to you. You got my back. You and God. Lol
Seriously I consider my self fortune to have as little side effects so far. Sometimes I change sleep and sometimes I just crash. My mind is shot and my hair hurts. Had body pains for a couple of days. But in the scheme of things I count my blessings.
Got about a week until round 2. Blood test this Friday to check blood count. Dr appointment next Tuesday. My son is taking me to the Rays/Yankees game Monday. I am a baseball nut.
How are things going with you?

Hey Chica! I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing...
I'm still dealing with neuropathy and edema but either I'm adjusting or its a little better, I'm not sure which. Last week I decided to go on meetup.com and start a Cancer survivors group to get together and do things, as you know, our new normal is a different experience as far as friends and family etc. 7 joined so far, and I just had coffee with 2 of them. I'm so glad I did this!
Wishing you wellness!!! xoxo0March 2015 -
Did you check amazon. I have been following you. So happy to hear results.
I had 3 sleepless nights followed by 3 day crash and body pain. So far I am eating ok. No changes in taste. Bought tickets for rays/yankee game before next round.0March 2015 -
