Seasons of Life
Well, as many of us are experiencing the dog days of summer, I am wondering about many of you. It has been quite hot, beyond hot, here in coastal South Carolina. So, using "seasons" as a theme, I am hoping some of you will share with us about the current "season" of your life. What do you love about the current season and what do you wish were different? What do you want in the next "season?"
My current season of life is one of status quo. I still have the same job. I still have six month checkups with my surgeon and medical oncologist. I am still on the anastrazole. I sometimes get caught up in thinking that I want "change" in my life, and then think back to late December 2019 when I first got introduced to cancer, and I am reminded that sometimes the status quo is good. I am going to start back with my yoga practice. I used to not enjoy the "hot yoga" but now, I do enjoy the relaxation in my muscles and to be honest, it's sometimes cooler in the studio than out in the sun. I have missed my yoga practice, as it helps me to just be present in the moment and have time just to focus on myself and my body.
What do some of you do to "get away from it all?" We had so many wonderfully talented people before- lots of artists. Jane ( I recall she lived in Georgia), Marcie (MarcieB), Carol (Carool). I am sure there were many more.
For my next season, I am hoping to be intentional about spending more time with family. I am hoping for continued good health. I am hoping to be a more positive person. I am making intentional efforts to make these desires become reality.
Another thing I would like to see as time goes on is a revival of this site to the active place it used to be.
What brought you here? What made you stay? What made you leave? What brought you back?
What can we do to make this a place of help?
I know for many of us, it became sort of a chat room and chat forum to discuss things non-cancer related. Do we need to focus more on treatments? Experimental treatments? Trials? The journey in general? Tips and tricks?
I learned a lot from many of you. I just really want this to come back to be the helpful place it was before.
