April 27, the day our lives changed. We were told , after my husband woke up from his colonoscopy, that they found a mass in his rectom. We would have to wait for the results of the biopsy, but he could almost guarantee that it was cancer. My husband, Nick, is deaf. He reads lips. Still a little groggy from the procedure, looked at me. I don't know if he didn't know what the dr said or if he was looking at me to reassure him that he had most certainly read the Dr's lips wrong. Nick is a big man. at 380 lbs and 5' 9", he is short and stocky. In that moment that he looked at me, he had never looked more like a scared little boy . Now me being who i am, had to tell myself, he has to be wrong. He will see, when the results come back, Dr Fitton will see that he was wrong.
