After progression, I was started on Carboplatin+Gemzar. My hair started growing back on this combo. They gave me nausea medicine before treatment and some to take as needed. I did get some nausea two days later, once ending up in the hospital due to fever, but the nausea medicine helped and I usually only get nausea if I don’t drink enough water after treatment. Treatment had to be cancelled a few times due to low white cells and low platelets so they prescribed me an immune booster to take for 5 days after treatment. Gemzar burns for a minute or two if you have tiny veins but helped for them to slow down the rate of administration and put on a heating pad. The area is tender for like a day or two afterwards. I haven’t noticed any burning for the last few rounds though.
