Ultrasounds and CT were as expected- quick and easy. The second needle biopsy had to be CT guided with an interventional radiologist due to the lymph node being located right behind his carotid, and the procedure lasted about an hour. He reported minimal discomfort after the procedure. The PET scan took about 2 hours, and eliminating concentrated sugar for 24 hours before was required.
