Hospitalized for one month, lodged in an American Cancer Society housing, home care from PT, OT, RN from Lifetime Care. Husband is caretaker. Had several hospitalizations since 2016 transplant for acute illnesses.

    No, it is painless. Felt a little pressure, like a speculum. Takes 3 minutes each time. There have been some FDA warnings about vaginal lasers causing scarring. My doc has been doing for years with good results. Like anything , the operator is important. Any laser can cause a burn anywhere if used improperly. If you decide to do it, research the doc you choose. I would definitely recommend. Breast cancer & treatment & surgery is bad enough... but vaginal atrophy & no sex & other issues.... I think every patient should know this treatment exists. Unfortunately insurance does not cover, which is wrong.

    My situation isn't even caused by the breast cancer - it's just age. I hadn't even thought about being burned. I need to do further research. I had asked my gynecologist about the procedure last year and she said she had referred some patients to someone in town who performs it but none of them went through with it because of the cost. Thank you for the info. I appreciate it.
