Having ER+/PR+ breast cancer I have been using Anastrozole for 5 years. I am wondering if there is anybody taking any pill to block progesterone?

Looks like there might not be too many doing that on here. While you're waiting for more information, we have a very powerful search feature that allows cancer patients to search for relevant topics that have been discussed on the site, or listed in someone's cancer journey. Just look at the top of the page and click on the experiences tab, then enter whatever term you want more information about in the search tab and you will get every instance where it was mentioned on the site.0

So sorry to see you still haven't had response to your question nazan. Wish I could offer some words of wisdom but I am PR-. Have you tried an online search?

I was Her+ so I was put on the same drug. And when I got five years, they requested that I stay on it five more years.0

Wow - question had me going to Google, Mayo, ACS, Komen...and several other sites. Could find...nothing...that specifically talked about progesterone alone. Every place simply indicated that endocrine therapy or hormone blockers...were used in hormonal (er/pr) positive cancers. I even searched for PR+ cancer alone. No hits. Seems progesterone can be positive or negative if one is ER+, but is never PR+ if there are no positive estrogen receptors.0

I have never heard of a drug to suppress it either except for birth control methods. Has your doctor suggested something? I am ER&PR+. Also taking Anastrozole. I'm on year 6 of taking it.0
