Who has experience with lymphadema in the neck?

I have a new issue that started over the weekend. My bottom lip was swollen and numb one morning, the next my neck was swollen and it was hard to swallow, my lip was a little swollen but not like the morning before. Yesterday my neck was swollen and this morning. I contacted my oncologist and asked what's up, they told me it sounded like lymphedema since I've had so many lymph nodes taken out of my neck. I haven't even had the first treatment yet and I'm having issues.

Anybody had this in the neck?

I'm a 20yr survivor of stage III tonsil cancer. Yes, the treatments cured me, but I had neck lymphedema for years. I tried massage, which did no good, and anything else I could find. I'm very petite, but it looked like I had three double chins. Then I found a doctor, who did primarily plastic surgery, and he agreed to do it. He drained, tightened, and whatever else he did. Ended up looking great, albeit a tiny bit lopsided due to the radiation damage. I'm not complaining :)

CeeDee, thanks for your response, I thought I had responded to this morning but it looks like it disappeared. No I can't massage them, there are only a few that I know of and my scar tissue and radiation damage are so bad my whole neck is stiff anyway. Thanks for your input!

Thanks Valeriet, I hope it doesn't come to surgery for me, I'm already so cut up with so much scar and radiation damage that my whole neck is tough as leather.
