If you have read any of his other posts about life as a caregiver for your wife, you know he has shared the honest truth about life on the inside. Most of us know about one side or the other, patient or caregiver, he shares some of both. Today is a piece looking back at the years of fighting, after having a year to contemplate it. What a wonderful wordsmith he is. It is definitely important to read what it is like for the caregiver. I can't even imagine. It's hard being the patient, but I can't imagine how tough it is to be the caregiver.
I think, after reading his post though, if my cancer comes back or progresses, I will do the most merciful thing I can and not fight. I will let it take me so my caregiver can get on with his life as quickly as possible.
