Do you feel like music helps you get through this? The cancer, not the other thing going on right no

I've always been a musical person, I play guitar and listen deeply and inquisitively to all types of music. Sometimes the lyrics lift me up, other times I can disappear into the song listening to how the different instruments are being played. It's sort of an escape for me while I'm sitting in the chair. What about you?

Yes!!! Most definitely! I have used music to help me get through some pretty dismal times. Like you said, you can just lose yourself for a while. I sometimes will pick one instrument and try to follow that line. It's an exercise in extreme concentration which can distract you from all else.

I've been a musician for 50 years and music has always been a big part of our lives. Oddly though, I wouldn't say that I HAD to have it through each diagnosis. But it's always there.

I am ADHD, and music helps block out the distractions while I'm working. I almost always have background music going. I even worked for Muzak for several years selling sound systems and music subscriptions.

I've developed an exercise plan at home for now. We have DirecTV and the channels up above 800 are all music channels. I usually exercise to Disco or R&B. Best wishes to you! Thanks for sharing.
