Changing taste and smells. Not lost, but changed.

Things that are supposed to smell a certain way don't. Things that are supposed to taste a certain way don't. Is this a normal thing? Maybe before I lose it all the way? Anybody got this?

When I was doing chemo I looked forward on my good days to eating some things I liked rather than the bland diet which was all I could tolerate on my bad days. The anticipation was better than the reality. Everything tasted terrible and I was happy to return to white chicken and vanilla milkshakes. Post chemo my sense of taste and smell have pretty much returned to normal

With platinum-based chemo such as FOLFOX, when I ate those dark chocolates wrapped in foil, they tasted just like I left the foil on. A metallic taste is the best description I have experienced.
It has gone away one year after chemo stopped.

I am years and years past chemo and 11 years past radiation, but still my taste is different and seems to keep changing. It must have something to do with the radiation killing off saliva glands and damaging everything else in the neck/throat/chin area.
