I have developed shingles due to nerve damage from treatments, they say.

It's painful as anything I've been through so far. Have anyone else had this happen? How long did it last?

    I am so, so sorry to hear this. I've heard shingles is the worst. I have been waiting for weeks for a call from the drugstore that they have a new supply of the vaccine in. I am on awaiting list. I don't know how long it lasts. I think it depends on severity, general health etc..... My mother had shingles, got treatment and it went away pretty quickly.

    I haven't had shingles either, but my mother did when she was fighting lung cancer. I felt so bad for her because she would just squirm with the itches wanting to scratch.

    I had shingles several years ago, probably from some sort of drug or treatment or torture.
    I went to my dr. right away & got the shot for it & it wasn't that painful. Itchy & burny!
    But if not treated, it is bad news. My dad had it on his face & the dr. was worried about it spreading to his eyes as it possibly could cause blindness.
    Get to your dr. ASAP!

    Most likely, you were infected in the hospital. Sadly, that is one of the best places to pick up the most common infections, such a MRSA, Shingles and C-Diff.

    I had the shingles one time a few years ago, it almost put me in the hospital.

    I had shingles when I was first being treated for MM.dr said triggered by chemo. I had had the original vaccine so my case was mild.After my stem cell transplant I redid all my vaccines including the new shingles two part vaccine. So far am clear knock on wood I don’t get it again.

    Was anyone taking Acyclovir medication during chemo treatment?

    I did have shingles once due to stress. Be gentle with it!
    However, a daily dose of the amino acid L-Lysine should reduce the length of time your shingles is "active". And a daily dose should keep you from having a recurrence. There is a medication the doctor can give you .. Acyclovir, which also has a generic. Discuss supplements with your medical team. CBD oil has seems to have great results for leukemic cancers.     Another supplement that should help is MSM. Keeps the cell walls free of plaque. Get it in the canister and add a scoop into your drinks. And then increase your water intake for the first 4-6 weeks as it removes toxins from your system.
