some side effects are starting to pile up on me.

The sores in my mouth and some burning on my chest from radiation, and the constant heartburn I guess is from the radiation too. What would you say has been the worst of the side effects from treatments?

I would be hard-pressed to say a single side effect was the worst. For me it was a combination of all of them piling up and compounding. Plus, I had radiation and chemo, each had their own problems. But, I will say that the dental, throat, frying from radiation was it's worst. For chemo, I would say nausea and everything that came with it.0

The nausea and bone deep flu-like illness that came with chemo were pretty bad. But for me I think the worst was the never ending chronic fatigue, the constant, never let up weariness. I remember thinking, I allowed myself to be put through unspeakable tortures to get to wellness and THIS is what I end up with? A year and a half post treatment I am finally finding I have regained some level of energy and stamina.0

For my hubby...with the chemo it was the nausea and mouth sores. He's not someone who gets nauseous. We've been married 45 years and before chemo, I had only seen him throw up 3 times. With the radiation which was done on the right upper lobe of the lung right next to his esophagus, it was the pain with swallowing. He lived on vanilla/marshmallow milkshakes with a some protein drinks mixed in, popsicles and mango gelato. The Magic Mouthwash work decently for some people since it contains a numbing agent. To protect his skin the doctor had him use Lansinoh cream. It's in the baby/breastfeeding aisle. It worked like a charm. Not even a hint of a sunburn.0
