Hi Lanie: just hoping your surgery went well & the road to full recovery is without any complications! I'm hoping you are back in Shallotte where all the smells of fresh salt air are giving you strength!! ( without that Regalwood paper plant blowing your direction!) blessings! Look forward to hearing how you are!

I hope all went well with your surgery today. When the nurses say to walk,WALK! The sooner you walk the better you will feel and you will help start the bowel sounds they're looking for and the sooner you can go home. If have the self controlled pain drip, use it. I used mine to the max and really had no pain. We're lucky that we were eligible for surgery and should keep looking on the bright side. If you should have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Be well and heal fast. Best regards,Marty

How are you? How is you're husband doing? Any better?

Do you think the Onc. could speak to him to help him understand all you are going through?

My husband would get chemo 2 weeks in a row then he gets a shot of Neulasta the day after. His WBC always shot way up. It appears he is finished with chemo for a while. He is meeting with the surgeon, we are praying he will be ready for surgery.

So sorry to read of your diagnosis! I know it's really tough! Are you satisfied with the quality of medical care you are getting? My parents lived in Wilmington for about 30 yr.s... Their med. care was sort of hit & miss as various issues arose in their retirement years. I love your neck of the woods! We come up there to Wrightsville beach every year! Very best wishes!

    Hi lanie516,

There are drugs that can stimulate your appetite. Try also eating some bits on a regular schedule. Maybe Ensure will also help. You will definitely feel weaker from the lack of nutrition. Also try and stay hydrated at the very least. Sipping may prove easier than trying to take huge volume. Good luck!

They mostly use it for your type of pan can, but I am looking into it for mine. I live with alot of anxiety and fear over all this but try hard to find joy in each day and push myself hard to find answers and help/treatment.

I spoke to Dr. Chabot's office last week and his P.A. told me he has been doing Nanoknife for over a year on pancreatic adenocarcinoma when a Whipple can't be done. Good luck...let me know where you end up.

Lanie, if you want to go to NYC, check Dr. John Chabot at Columbia Presbyterian. I know he does Nano on adenocarcinoma in the pancreas and you can read about him online. He is very good.. Still, DR. Martin in Louisville may be the one doing it the most.

Lanie, please let me know what you learn about Nanoknife and if it can help you. I am still looking into it too...with me doctors are reluctant to operate as the lesions (which look like pancreatic neuroendocrine tiny tumors) are too small to biopsy. I am determined to get help and am also doing alternative therapies. I am even looking into Cannabis Oil...there are many success stories with Cancer. Also there is Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, an alternative doctor who says he has good success with Pancreatic Cancer...he's in NYC.

HI Lani, Have you looked into Nanoknife? Dr. Martin in Loiuisville, KY is perhaps the best in the country with pancreatic cancer and Nanoknife. It is used for tumors that can't be removed thru another surgery due to close proximity to major veins, arteries, etc.I hope you will look into it. Best of luck.

    Oh Lanie
The reason I might seem like I understand is because my sister was diagnosed with cancer in 2001 and i was devastated. She was only 50. She fought for her life until 2008 and I can tell you I have many many regrets. I let her down many times and I didnt even know it. Then i was dx in feb 2012..only then did i understand how i had let her down..By then It was too late. I lost my Mom to cancer 2010 and my auntie to ALS..I had no one to help me. And two kids 12 and 13. So I know its very very hard but you just need to do what you need to do for yourself and damn the rest.
You need all your energy killing cancer. But men are just not supportive. If it were not for the s-x part I think i would be a lesbian.
Hang on there is hope for all of us..my sisters name was Elaine as is my daughters..we called her laine.

My husband is almost too supportive, asking me how I'm doing fifty plus times a day! If I say I'd like something, apples for ex...he will go and buy much more than I could ever eat. It would be comical if it didn't irritate me so much. He also won't let me drive. I wanna drive. I want to escape for a few hours. Yes, I am on morphine Contin but I wouldn't take one for several hours before I drove. I don't want to hurt anyone, I'm very coherent. My husband says if I wrecked and the other party found out I was on morphine they would sue us. I think he just wants to keep tabs on me, I've got to admit- he will take me anywhere I want to go....
