Hi, I am about the same. Still get tired easily, can't lose any weight, difficult sleeping on surgery side some nights. My hypothyroidism is stable but still have the side effects of it.
    How are you doing?

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I now wish I wouldn't have had treatment also. I have so many more health problems now than I did before all this treatment. Wishing you the best.

tam4higin. Hi my name is Arlean. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 9/27/16. I started my radiation on 12/6/16. Design already wanting me to take the hormone suppression therapy . I'm 65 y/o. My cancer was less than 1 cm and slow growing. I have done some research and I really don't want to take the pills, but everyone keeps pushing, I need info to make an informed decision regarding medication and the side effects, can you help or offer advice. Thanks, arlean

    Hi tam4givin,
I can understand why you're nervous. I can't tell you the antibiotics as I don't remember them, but I would encourage you to go with the doctor whose diagnosis best fits your comfort zone. If you think your primary care doctor knows what he/she is doing, and you believe there may be infection, remember this: you are your own best advocate. Nobody knows your body better than you do. I can't tell you which idea is best, but I think you can tell yourself. Best wishes, and good luck with this. - innadoon

I'm sorry you are having such problems with your doctors, and thought it better to talk to you on your page than continuing on the other page.

The American Cancer Society is a national organization and has an 800 number to call 24/7, 1-800-227-2345, and they say they will help with anything. Please try it before you give up. Their website to explore is cancer.org. They have been able to help me with financial resources. Also ask them for the name of a American Cancer Society Patient Navigator who can help you as you go.

You say you are often seen by a Nurse Practitioner. You can always ask to see your doctor for a difficult question, but I've found the Nurse Practitioners to be more patient, possibly because mine is a woman and I think we relate on a different level than my doctor, who I also like.

Wishing the best with your concernsl. You'll feel better if you call the American Cancer Society 800 number, so please do that. We are on an American Cancer Society message board, and Greg actually works for them, too, so ask for his help.

The redacted item I tried to give you before is 800 plus 227 plus 2345 (dial that together for American Cancer Society 24/7).

I'm going to pray for you. Take care!

How are you doing tam4givin? Where are you in your treatment. I was sorry to read that you've not had a good experience at the teaching hospital nearest you. Usually they are on top of the latest and best treatment regimes. You say you have other health issues. You certainly have your cross to carry.

Hi, checking in to see how you are doing. I, too, was wondering whether you went to the mountains that time or not. I'm glad you went though I think you are not so sure you should have. I think it was better to go and wonder if you should have gone than to not go and wonder if you should have.lol.
The first mastectomy 11 years ago I think they finally had to take drain out and I went a couple times to get fluid sucked out via needle and syringe. The first time was fine, second time very painful. After that it has been fine. No lymphodema.
Wishing you the best. Catch you later.....:)

Better ask what you can take for constipation. I take Docusate Sosium (Colace) If I haven't been able to go I take Peri-Colace which helps make you go. You should ask your team though. Don't wait too long.

I tried ACS for a phone buddy too but was lost through the cracks too. Here are a two other similar programs:

Friend for Life Cancer Support Network 866-374-3634
    Imerman Angels 877-274-5529

I understand how being able to talk to someone who has been in your shoes can help get through the emotional ups and downs. This journey can make you feel completely alone.

    Hello Tam,
Thank you for following me, sorry you are here, but very welcome, very welcome. I started coming here due to lack of human support and (I meant tactile up close and in person). I am flattered by being followed by you. I believe God puts us together in life for a reason. I would hope to hear from you so I know what has and is transpiring in your life, tx, etc.
Namaste and hope to hear from you, Dana
