Ritafay, thank you for posting on my wall. My faith is what has gotten me this far. Some may ask, why are you doing this to me God? I say, thank you God for being by my side & bringing me this far.

Good Morning Ritafay, I hope this finds you feeling as well as possible. I just had my 2nd round of new chemo drug, vectibix. It is really drying out my skin. My face is peeling like I have a sunburn. The skin on my hands is splitting and puckered. Weird...... Anyway I just keep telling myself it could be worse. You have also been thru a lot. Our stories are very similar. If you ever want to talk, let me know. I would be happy to exchange phone numbers. Take care!

Yes, Rita. Thanks. It is a question for an oncologist but my husband's oncologist is only recommending more colonoscopies and blood tests for his IIIA colon cancer and my husband has no intention of asking for a different oncologist. Don't even know if I can talk him into a second opinion but I will try.

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share with you my blog. I was diagnosed in Nov 2012 with stageIV and it has been quite the journey but I am coming out on top. I believe my attitude and willingness to fight on all levels have gotten me where I am today.
Never give up and take it one day at times I as not to get too overwhelmed. www.tarasaysfuckcancer.com. I apologize for the f word but after my first surgery it was one of the first things I said. TSFC has now become my mantra

thanks, i had bad side effects with folfox chemo(probably spelled wrong) don't even want to say what they were, but they just lowered one chemo drug, and i had to have extra chemo, believe me when i tell you, that by hanging in there, when i thought i would rather be dead, paid off in the end.i was in the 10% of people that make it,(i had another cancer at the same time) but i did make it. you will too, no-one that hasn't been there can understand, but everyone here does.i wish i would have discovered this website when i was in treatment.if you want to ask me anything,,or just whine,,cause you deserve to. i am here for you.

Also, I too could not handle chemo. I tried it 3 times off and on and did not do well. I only could do 1/2 the dose and still did horrible and had every side effect. I felt horrible. Plus after 25 treatments they added 3 additional radiation treatments as I was told it increased my surgery success by 15%. I cried and didn't want it, I was done! Somehow, with a family member who picked me up the last 3 treatments I barely made it through 3 more days but I finished today. I feel your pain but you can do this!

Hugs - chemo can be very rough. Speak with your oncology team about this issue and your feelings. They may be able to mitigate some of the side effects -

I hope you continue with your treatment plan, we are here to help you and virtually hold your hand. As Gmo said you can do this, with a little help from your friends

    Hugs, healing vibes and prayers.

There is always hope as long as there is life. Exercise, if you can walk you can do it. reach out to friends, meditate, pray. Ask your Dr for antidepressants, it helps to face the fight.God be with you.

I am sorry to hear about your despair This is not an unusual reaction to this sort of life stress. Try to remember that colon cancer has a very high cure rate. The cure rate is further increased by patient positive attitude and cardio exercise. As much as it may seem hard to believe anyone would expect a chemo patient to get to the gym - it is true. The positive effect on your symptoms and psyche are amazing plus it has been shown to increase cure rate..
Besides the trauma of cancer some of the chemo meds can mess with your emotions Ask your doctor about an antidepressant just to get you through the next year Good luck
