msesq, thank you! Yes, it does suck. I'll just have to do what we all had to do: wait until I know more. At least I'm not a newbie! Gallows humor is comforting. Hugs, Carol

Hi .. Did you really eat a full cup or more of fresh berries plus a dozen cherries and a cupful of fresh sprouts daily & for a minimum of 3 weeks?

Doing less is of little consequence. I know it is expensive but I dont set prices and insurance wont cover. It would also be best to eat these foods organically because the spray of peticides is so much less.

Thanks for supporting others by offering advice and positive wishes! It does make a difference for them to see that other people have been there and are doing OK.

Hi, msesq. One of your "experiences" indicates that your husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer. How is he doing?

Thank you for the feedback about sleep problems. The anxiety before getting test results seems like it does get better over the years, and we find ways to manage it. But it is still there and can definitely disrupt sleep.

Also, as a tea, cornsilk. and hifu (google it). There are lots of ways to skin that proverbial cat. Mostly, those ways don't interfere with each other.

Hi; I read your post expressing a concern about your environment. Without going into details, there was toxic mold hidden behind the walls of my prior house. I developed a skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma). Mold can cause cancers.

There are almost only plastic bras anymore. They don't let your tissues breathe. Take yours off more often. Hanes make a cotton sports bra. One model closes in the front which me be a geat help to you. I'm a food nut and feel my choices kept me alive for the 13 years until a doctor could finally diagnose the "wart", which is what they all called it, as a cancer tumor.

I've covered a lot of ground in my search for recovered health. Please let me know if I can be of any help to you. Best wishes for a return of your own health. For your hubby, especially, please look into a mushroom extract called "chaga".

    Best wishes

Hi, msesq. On January 19 a question was asked about how folks handle anxiety. You answered that you've used the Headspace website. I looked into Headspace previously and tried the free meditations. You mentioned the sleep meditation. Have you done others? Do you mind elaborating on what you think about the program? I was about to sign up but then found a few online reviews (which, I know, one can't necessarily trust) that said they had a hard time stopping their subscriptions and getting the payments stopped, etc., so that made me leery to try it. And when you mentioned Mindful, do you mean mindful.org? I get the Mindful magazine. Thank you very much for your time. I appreciate any insight you can provide.

I just saw your henna halo picture. It is beautiful. Would it be possible to give me more information about how to get one? I did not see much info when I tried to google it. I would appreciate any info you are able to pass on about it.

Thank you for your input on my question. Gaining weight on chemo is surprising, but not hard to do, given the steroids. I also craved mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and other creamy, bland comfort foods. Have you had any success in working on the weight you gained, or are you happy where you are? May I ask, did your oncologist give you any feedback about weight or nutrition? Mine never said a word.

I just wanted to comment on a post that you made. I am coming to the end of my Herceptin treatments. After today's, I only have 2 more to go. You will be surprised at how quickly it will go. I can't believe that my year of treatment is almost over. Good luck to you. Take care.

I took the same drugs as you, and yes, I had eye twitching (my left eye too) seems like it was my last chemo infusion and the two days following. Then about 2 months later I had it again for 2 or 3 days and then about 2 months after that for a few days again. I didn't do anything about it; it just stopped on its own.

Hi, msesq. I saw your response to Pixelated4u's question ("What can I do to help my mom during her chemo treatments?"). I have to tell you that your response brought tears to my eyes. Your children sound so wonderful. What thoughtful people. It sounds like they are the product of good and kind parenting! And I'm so glad you have that type of support. Best wishes to you. : )

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
