My suggestion for you Carli is to ask God to lead you to where He wants you to be. I did this when DX... I knew it was Stage IV (39 lb tumor), Surgery was done a month later. Oncologist said he'd removed all the cancer he could see. I asked him how much time I had.... He responded "6 Months". He's a fabulous Doctor and I say this even if he was wrong. He said six months..... 9 years ago.... I'm still here!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13 May you have power together with all the saints , to grasp how wide and how long, and how high, and how deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you maybe filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19. Hope does not disappoint us and nothing is impossible with God.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so sorry to hear the news that you received. It's the news that we all fear but I believe that you should keep hope and faith by your side. Doctors are often wrong. I'm praying that you prove them wrong and surrprise all of us.

Never give up HOPE! You have been presented a challenge and a serious one at that, I am a cancer caregiver support
group facilitator, (4 yrs.) I agree with Greg so many times our caregivers have told us the same thing...only a matter of time and that was 4 yrs. ago and their loved ones are still with us. Faith plays important role and I do believe God says WHEN! When you get discouraged and you are at the end of your rope...tie a knot and hang on! Sending you healing thoughts :)

Checking in on my fellow peritoneal cancer pt. How are you? I just had my 2nd cycle Carbo and Taxotere this past Fri and am home on the couch. Went to church this morning but was nauseated the first 20 minutes or so. I have thought about you and wanted you to know I'm praying for you as well. Hugs , Leslie

    Carli:
Follow as many stories and keep dear those that offer successes and valuable information on nutrician and health. Cancer cannot survive and thrive in a healthy body. You are in for a possible long ordeal, so patience will be your friend and lack of it your enemy. Don't let anything or set back discourage you. We all here have had to face many difficulties in dealing with our cancer, some pretty rough and still bounce back. Some have recovered more rapidly than others. We do not all know the state at which our bodies are able to respond. Just give it a fighting chance and not turn down any opporturnity to learn by reading and learning as much about your condition as you can tolerate. Sometimes it is depressing to hear all of the issues that are put upon us. Do not dwell, or fear from what you hear. That is their story, make your own. God is pulling for you. We here on earth have overwhelmed our bodies with lots of stuff from the envirnoment to the foods we eat. Now, we are in the fight to win it back. Put on your boxing gloves, girl, you CAN DO IT! Good Girl!
that's a GREAT way to start things up and keep them going! i have a good feeling you are up to the struggle. If you have anything in the future that bugs you or you just need to talk click on my pic and give me a shout. i work part time now but i will check in occasionally to see how folks are doing and maybe ask a question myself. Things come up even in remission like UT's ..UGH you just need to stay aware.
blessings! Jeanie PS I am 63 too and will be 64 in Dec, so even though cancer struck i had it easier at this age with my family already grown and not needing care. the down side is the body is older and it is harder to recover, so you got to pull out all stops!

    Hi,
I see this is new to you. If you would like to talk about any concerns please feel free to get in touch with me. i am 63 and had same diagnosis as you. I had surgery February 2012, and although it takes a long time to recover there is hope! I am in remission since June of 2012 after only 6 chemo treatments. Next doc visit coming up in July. i get a little nervous each time I go back to the oncologist, because, that is where my journey began.
This is a club no one wants to belong to, but we can stick together and weather the storms. Do not let fears take you over, share your concerns.
    All my best,
    jeanie
