Hi Marci,
Thank you so much for your input on my question. This is my 2nd battle with breast cancer, the first time was back in 2000 when I had a partial masectomy followed by 8 wks of radiation. I was taken off my BC pills which to me was a cruel joke after 18 yrs lol. Aside from being burnt to a crisp after the first week I really wasn't overly tired. This time around the cancer was different, it was an aggressive triple negative in the same breast as last time so this time I had to have a total masectomy. Within 3 hrs of my surgery I wanted to go home, I didn't want to stay in the hospital at all but they wouldn't let me leave so I just stayed awake all night long watching tv counting down till it was morning and I could go home to my furbaby. I was hell bent on getting back to normal, not letting this cancer beat me and for about a week or so I did good. Then the exhaustion just got worse but still I refused to give in. I still walk my furbaby 3x's a day for and hour at a time. I didn't go the chemo route because for me it wasn't worth the risks to my heart or making my neuropathy any worse. I told my onc. that I had talked to my card. and it was my decision to not have chemo because the drugs cause damage to your heart and since I had open heart surgery 40 yrs ago at 11 yrs old and still have valves that leak because they wouldn't replace them back then the risks were to high for me to take. Now my decision was the right one for me and everyone is different. I plan to ask my endo when I see him in a few weeks if any of my meds need to upped or anything to help with the exhaustion. I live with several life threatening diseases in addition to my cancer and heart issues but its the cancer that scares the hell out of me. So thank you for your advice, I wish you and your family a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR.0December 2013 -
I liked your answer...that you wish you were numb on both sides. I am numb almost all over the left side, but I am occasionally aggravated by stabbing pains but I tell myself, "If you had good sensation, you'd probably hurt worse and lots more!" Guess that's true.0November 2013

Welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need to sound off or vent from anger. We are all here to listen and help, if we can, because at some point and time in each of our lives we have been in your situation. Please don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question on this site is silly or dumb. We all have questions we would like other opinions on or answers to. There are so many nice people here that it has helped me get through my fears I had when I was DX'd with DCIS. Good luck in the future.0November 2013
