On the pinboard I have pics of my tickets- the one that UA gave me-and then they decided that I had a forgery. It looked like a 6th grader did it. What's sad, is that when they got around to scanning it, the scan showed that it was legitimate-and I had my confirmation number on it too. You'll laugh at the tickets that All Japanese Airways gave me, but they printed proof that I did pay, that I didn't swim to Japan but flew UA. But keep every scrap of paper with you, until you get home.

Buy a ticket one of the travel companies-like Expedia, etc. I bought directly from United online, talking to a telephone United agent . I had trouble getting on planes, because they thought that I forged this. A Marine here, Albuquerque, saw me with this, and he said, "Uh, oh, you'll have trouble and maybe have to buy new tickets. Save every piece of paper that you get." @ LAX, I saw 2 people put in rages, trying to call United to get on their planes. I had to show every boarding pass from every airport and argue to get on the next plane. They all asked me if I checked in at the origin. I said- YES!! I don't know if other airlines do this, but United does. I went to the desk here over 2 hours early, and they handed me a boarding pass to denver. @ Denver I had to politely argue, show my boarding pass and luggage ticket, wait for them to talk, then they called UA with my confirmation number. It took over half of an hour to get a boarding pass if things went well. One place it took over an hour, and a UA supervisor came by to check the station. He looked at my papers, boarding passes, and he told the clerks to get me a boarding pass, now.

I wasn't given a proper ticket book until I got to Naha, Okinawa. save all of your paperwork-all boarding passes. Also seat choice doesn't make any difference. They just roll up a plane that is a different size or seats in different ways, and you go where they tell you. Yes, they break up families. Most passengers will trade seats, so a family can sit together. Good luck on your journey.

Just darn. I am here as someone who cares and doesn't like your situation. I too am living with the medical belief that I am on borrowed time but I have had 71 years. If I was magic I would share them with you.

I feel the same way. I know that I will die. I'm surprised that I've lived this long (73 and an adrenaline junkie). I have a rare thing that nobody is quite sure what to do with. On the outside of my chart, it says, "Non-compliant Patient". I had this doctor that called me Missy and Little Lady. When I asked a question, he changed the subject. I have a tattooed biker grandson that is my proxy. He scared some of the answers out of that doctor. That doctor had the hubris to say that if I picked another treatment, that in so many years that I'd go to him crying and begging for his care. He got so mad when I pointed out that either one of us could be run over, while going to the parking lot that night or whenever. None of us have a guarantee. My grandson told me that he wouldn't let me be treated by that doctor, because he was an idiot.

To everyone's surprise, things have worked out well for me. There it is again- there isn't any guarantee about anything-good or bad. People have ideas of what cancer is like from movies, stories, TV shows. None of them are very realistic, and each patient is different in so many ways. I wish you luck- the best.
