Hi, I saw you on the update. I'm sorry for your problems. I can sympathize-I'm a head cancer survivor. I had different results. The radiation burnt out the oil glands in my eyes. It didn't happen immediately, as it was the slow burn. Even the eye doctors couldn't figure out what was happening and nobody in the medical world was very nice to me. An Urgent Care doctor said that he couldn't say for sure what was going on, and he referred me to a friend that took an hour examining me. He gave a definite diagnosis and plan for my eye care. He actually changed my life. My eyelids and tear ducts were swelled up. It was very painful to move my eyelids. I couldn't see well because of the thick mucous covering my eyes. He prescribed a specific OTC eyedrop and night eye gel. I was already doing the correct things--hot compresses for my eyes-5 minutes 2x/day, eye drops, washing my eyes several times a day. I now do 15 minute eye compresses 4X/day. I still have eye drops in the kitchen, purse, computer, with my hair stuff, by my bed---but super strength stuff. Sometimes I still wake up with painful eyes, and they always sort of ache-bother me, and the rim of my eyelids are pretty pink-but I can see, I can open and close my eyes. my eyelids no longer stick to my eyeballs, and most nights I can sleep all night long. I can drive too.

Thank you very much. The original Oncology and Radiology doctors I had in 2018 until Feb 2018 got fired by me before they killed me. New radiation machine possibly not calibrated correctly. The past year with new doctors, they are confused by what has happened to me due to severe side effects that never go better. I did get rid of my cancer and did not wind up deaf and do not have to shave from my neck down,,,,,,,

Surgery Monday morning. My understanding is tissue removal (biopsy?) and possible tonsillectomy (palatine?). Is this similar to your experience? What can we expect?

Just had my 1st yr CT-scan, and the radiologist noted several objects different in size than 6 mo earlier. But my doctor reassured me this was normal and had more healing to go thru. Best of luck with yours!

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/head-neck-throat-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

You may also find our "Beginner's Guide To Cancer" page helpful Click Here for that=> http://bit.ly/10BQKCi Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
