Hi Bethie! I too shaved off ALL my hair about a week before I started chemo. I didn't want to have it all over my pillow or anywhere else! friends threw a "head shave party" for me, where everyone took turns using the clippers! You have a very nice shaped head, like I was told I do, so rocking the bald look was easy for me. I just put my big girl panties on and threw on some lipstick, some hoop earrings, and an awesome pair of heels, and went out like that. Sure, I got stares, but if people stare its probably because they are jealous of your perfect shaped head and they can't rock it bald like we can!0June 2013

Hi Bethie, yep "boyfriend" scat after learning my caregiver services would be diminished by my cancer. He let me go alone to face the tests/news. Glad you have your BFF and she has you. Have a happy cancer journey. You know that is a reference to that dreadful personal product ad.0June 2013

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Your experience as a survivor is valuable to those who are just starting, you can answer their questions since you have been there already. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Welcome to the site. You will find that this site is full of friendly people who are here for you and ready to listen when you need to vent or sound off. We all have been there and have had days that were not so good and made us unhappy or angry and it helps to sound off to people who have been there and understand. Don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question is silly or dumb on this site. We are here to help each other and questions are one way we all can help with answering them from our experiences. Sometimes getting another person's point of view can be very helpful. Good luck to you.0June 2013
