Hi, Lauren65. I saw your question where you said you were recently diagnosed with a reoccurrence to your bones. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry and I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts and prayers and a warm hug.

    Hi Lauren65,

First of all congrats on your engagement :) This news really made me smile, it made me think that there really are men out there that aren't grossed out by scars so thank you for telling me about your experience :) Reconstrution isn't and option for me for several reasons first being that I am TERRIFIED of needles so therefore I wouldn't willing have surgery and second of all because I had had radiation 13 yrs ago and the surgeon had to take so much skin to remove the breast and infected area there isn't enough left to do reconstruction. Honestly I wouldn't want to do reconstruction cause I would always have the fear of having to have the breast removed also. You are dead on right about my ex, the is a coward and an XXX because he didn't honor his marriage vows at all. Right now I have a pup who gives me unconditional love and he doesn't care that his momma is missing a breast he just loves me for me and thats helping me so much. At times when I am really having a hard time he seems to know it and comes over and gives me his little piggy paw to hold, almost like he is saying its ok momma just hold my hand and it will be all better. I thank all of you that are giving me so many encouraging words here and I know that in time everything will be alright but just for now its so dam hard. Again thank you so much for all your kind words and I am looking forward to getting to follow your journey and see how your doing. Have a good day.

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

You may also find our "Beginner's Guide To Cancer" page helpful Click Here for that=> http://bit.ly/10BQKCi

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly bunch of people who are ready and willing to help in any way they can if you have a question or just want to vent or sound off. All of us have been in your shoes at some point and time in our lives and that is why we are members of this site. We have all had cancer. Don't be afraid to ask questions because no question is silly or dumb according to us. Most of the time you will find that there is an answer to your question from someone who has been there done that. I know I have met many nice people since I have been on this board and they all have been so encouraging and friendly in answering my questions or just making a comment to one of my comments. Good luck to you.
