Noureen, I just noticed you are from Euless. I'm not too far away, in Ft. Worth. Have you completed Herceptin treatments?0January 2015

Hi, Noureen. I too am having my final chemo tomorrow, but will continue the Herceptin for the rest of the year. Since I will still see the same nurses, I am going to wait until I am really done. I hope I can remember all of the suggestions that you received. Good luck to you!!!!!0May 2014

It varied for me, each infusion had differing issues or degree of difficulty per repetitive issue. I was just thankful that the anti nausea meds worked, that I got through all six infusions, that I have had three lucky NED years. I hope it gets better for you, take up the issues you are having with your cancer care team, they may be able to offer support meds that work better for you.0February 2014

Hi Noureen, what chemo protocol are you following ? It took me about a week as well to bounce back during my AC treatments. Good Luck!0January 2014

Welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need to sound off or vent from anger. We are all here to listen and help, if we can, because at some point and time in each of our lives we have been in your situation. Please don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question on this site is silly or dumb. We all have questions we would like other opinions on or answers to. There are so many nice people here that it has helped me get through my fears I had when I was DX'd with DCIS. Good luck in the future.0December 2013

Hi, We have the same diagnosis, so sorry! I have finished the "TCH" chemo last Aug. & the radiation in mid Oct. You should be fine. Chemo is hard but doable, plus you are half my age! LOL
Always eat before your treatments, get a port installed, drink water, even when you don't want to, call the Dr. for any & all questions & ask any of us! We are here for you & you can do this! Take care, Barb0December 2013 -
Noureen, I am her2, I had taxotere, carboplatin, herceptin with a good response. I was scared but had no severe reactions, had taste changes, gained 30 pounds (yep, thought I was going to lose that eternal last 10 lbs), did use the magic mouth rinse for minor mouth sores toward the end of my series. I did the herceptin for a year, if your onc recommends tykerb do look into it because combined with herceptin it appears a postive double hitter. I could not afford the tykerb due to a medicare issue. A big sudden learning curve, you will do well and not have too many down days. I will be cheering for you.0December 2013

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
